Ruakaka Street Sprint
Who's interested in going for a look at the Ruakaka street sprints.
I'm meeting up with StephenT at his place at 9.am on Sunday morning and should be able to get down to Ruakaka by around 10.30am.
I've been to this event a few times over the years and its usually pretty good.
Scottnz seems keen to come up from Auckland, so hopefully we can get a couple more to come up with him.
After the event I'm going back down to Auckland, so thought if anyone is interested, I would take the senic route back down to Auckland.
I will be in my RX8 this time, so should be a good drive.

Well all I can say is you guys that didn't come along missed out on a good day out.
Diane and I meet up with StephenT and his friends in Kerikeri and went off to Ruakaka in the two RX8s.
Unfortunately the battery in our camera was flat, so no photo's were taken, but there were some excellent cars to watch going around the course.
And yes there were a quite a few Rotaries.
Even Steve Millen with his Ford GT was racing and he was good to watch.
We all went for lunch at the local pub and had a great lunch. One of Stephen's friends managed to have fish and chips with mushy peas. Don't know whether that was the best one on the menu, but I think a good time was had by all.
After another hour or so we all said goodbye and Diane and I headed down to Auckland and took the senic root via Mangawhai and Matakana. Some really nice roads and great senery.
Anyway hope you all had a good day, because we did.

I have to agree with Rotaman, awesome day, great racing and some very nice cars. The Stillen was spectacular and Carl Ruitemans Subby STI was seriously quick off the line, very impressive. The Batty and the old school 7 looked and went well. A very nice, laid back day. Thanks Roger!!

For the people that didn't get there, here are a couple of youtube uploads from yesterday.
As you will see this is an excellent sprint for anyone that might be thinking about having ago next year.
And thanks very much for Stephen and his crew for coming along.
Hopefully we will catch up again sometime.
