We will discuss our options Weds. I will start a new thread on it.
I have done some spread sheets and will post figures and let everyone make a decision at that point.

I will admit I am a bit surprised. After all the talk and all the threads on this I decided to take this on because I thought there was a great interest in it. But does not seem to be that major of a deal to most members at this point.

Theres no need to rush or panic yet people, the deadline hasn't come yet. There are three different types of people: those who pay their bills ahead of time, those who pay their bills on the due date, and those who pay their bills late. The challenge is to get people to pay by the deadline if they can...heres some suggestions when it comes and goes....

ATTENTION

THIS IS A FRIENDLY REMINDER TO PAY YOUR DEPOSIT NOW

HERE ARE YOUR ALTERNATIVES...

1. WE COULD PLACE A REMINDER NOTICE FOR YOU IN FAIRFAX NEWSPAPERS

2. I COULD PAY YOUR DEPOSIT NOW....AND THEN PAY ME BACK AT 27% INTEREST

3. WE COULD SELL UP YOUR SHARES IN MAZDA

4. WE COULD TELL OTHERS YOU WERE TOO BUSY FILMING GAY ****

5. WE COULD SAY THE REASON YOU ARE LATE IS BECAUSE YOU'RE STILL IN A SECURE MENTAL INSTITUTION

...any other suggestions?

OK guys we are getting down to the wire.

BUT things are looking good and at this point it is a go, at worst we may have to up the final fee by $50.00 or so or scale back some things on the track hire like the insurance for allowing spectators, to make it all happen.

But with a little a luck more will come on board between now and the final payment.

I will give a final report tomorrow, but again it looks like the 2008 Nats are a go.

We are in, the Nats are happening.
Special thanks to all those that have stepped up and paid the deposits.
Also a special thanks to Archie over at MazFix for coming to party and rounding up a few people for us and offering to do some sponsorship.

Cheers people we are going to Lakeside.

Now people have to remember to pay the balance by the due date!

C'mon people, Monte shouldn't have to chase you up! You should be bloody grateful he's taken it on and co-operating to make it easier for him...

Track deposit has been made and track is secured for the Oct 4th date.

Will post Hotel info soon.

Some people have asked about the AASA license and how to to get it.
You can download the form at http://www.queenslandraceway.com.au/ and mail the completed from along with your license fee direct to queensland race way and they will process your application.

I am up for a get together any time.
If you mean am I planning on getting together with anyone on the Nats anytime soon the answer is nothing has been planned at this time.

If someone up in the Bris area wants to start contacting hotels and help get that settled it would be a big help and save me some LD bills and a possible trip up there.

I've checked out Ticketek, Ticketmaster and OurBrisbane.com, and other than the 2008 Chrysler Motor show on 5/10/08 and Octoberfest which is being held anything else that weekend which is going to impact heavily on accomodation. (Unless a surge of P76 and Valiant owners come out of the woodwork!)

There could be late notice of a concert or sporting event of some sorts, but you would think now we're less than 3 months out, the chances are low.

You could also consider in your Road trip planning this weekend is when Queensland school holidays finish, so expect heavy traffic on the Sunday.

Mont, I'm staying in Surfers on 18/7/08 for a birthday treat at Draculas, and if you're free perhaps we could meet up for a cuppa (or a cold beer) in the afternoon somewhere. It would be great if Lock and some of the others could catch up then as well????

I'm going to be staying at the Sheraton Mirage near Seaworld from 14-18 July. Check out Sat morning. If any of you guys want to come over for a drink or two by the pool, let me know.

Had fun at Wakefield yesterday. First one in a while for me, so I drove reasonably conservatively with DSC left on. Best was 1.15.6 on old street tyres but MACCAA has given me a few things to work on for next time which will hopefully get me down into the 14's. Matt did much better on semi-slicks - 1.13.8 from memory. Bad rollover incident too but fortunately the driver walked away from it (RX2/Capella)...

Off topic but quite impressed with the Revolver's driving yesterday,I think that semi-slicks on the Revolver mobile could see 1.12's or even 1.11's.. And yes,I think that the roll cage in the RX2 yesterday maybe saved that guy from serious injury or worse.

Hahaha, thanks Matt - your cheque's in the mail...

I don't know about 11's or 12's but I would like to get into the 14's on street tyres with some reasonable consistency...

Anyway, back on topic...

We're booked into the Mantra Phoenician Resort which is staggering distance from Draculas and the Casino. Arrival 7.00pm on the Friday night......and just in time for some

I'm up for drinks on Friday night, (I'll be at the Casino) or coffee heart starter pool side next (mid) morning or afternoon. Due to an unexpected phone melt down Mont, I don't have your number anymore, but I'll PM Dave and yourself and hopefully hook up.

PMed you Trev/Monte but didn't think about the Sat morning - that might be better than trying to abandon the fam on the Friday night. Let me know if you want to come over for something poolside that morning (we check out though at 11ish).

I'm racing my MX-5 at Lakeside this Saturday .

I can't wait as it has been almost 10 years since I last raced there in the 626.

Looking forward to meeting you guys in October.
