No Dick Johnson for the Nats.
But Mazda is coming to the party and bringing a couple of 09's. So if you have been wanting to test drive on this is your chance.
Hi Monte,
Thanks for the proposal.
Mazda Australia is happy to be involved on the day.
Just to confirm Mazda will:
1. Bring along 2 new RX-8s. One for a static display in the area near by the tower and the other for road-speed test drives.
- (Test drives can take place at request on the public roads surrounding the track)
- (Each test drive will require a Mazda Staff member to be present and in the car)
- (An experienced Mazda staff member with a good knowledge of the virtues of the new RX-8 will man the display to answer any questions pertinent to the new RX-8).
2. Put up a marquee (around 3mx3m) in the display area you suggested along with some Mazda pull up banners and signage around it, and at least one plasma screen looping video footage of the new RX-8.
- (Obviously we will require power supply for this)
3. Hand out/distribute Mazda merchandise from the marquee. Can you please advise what merchandise you will be doing on the day, just so we don't double up?
4. Advertise the date of the event on the event calendar on mazda.com.au http://www.mazda.com.au/home/About%2...0Calendar.aspx
I will arrange for this ASAP.
Let me know if you have any comments or concerns.

Had the car serviced and parts fitted a week or so ago. New fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid) and filters (oil, air and cabin). New aftermarket water pump to reduce cavitation. Suspension finally finished with front strut brace to match the rear. Brake pads still have a lot of life in them. Trip up and back and track day might see off my PS2's at long last though.
No excuses except the lump of blood and bone behind the wheel...
MDR, any chance of revising the list of entries re: paid up status?

I am betting it will be unless he took it all apart since I have seen him last.
It was all on there and working a couple of months ago.
I have my new plugs coming in this week then fluids will be done next week.
I will be ready for the Nats.

Would any Brisbanites care to provide some step by step directions to Lakeside for those approaching Brisbane from the south?
Is it signposted?
I'm hoping to have my gee whiz GPS system by next week but would appreciate some local knowledge...

Can someone remind me of the name and address for the hotel please, so I don't have to hunt for it. I'll Google map the thing and find it on the Friday.

Yep, thanks Tony. Len phoned me with the name too.
I've got it sorted on Google maps . Will probably still get lost but at least now I know where I'm supposed to be...<me wishes I had a buxom blonde navigator for the trip>.............<and spares in the back seat>

Just be careful if you stop at a Bunnings along the way.
Major scam happening in the parking lot of Bunnings in QLD.
I got this warning in the mail today.
A "heads up" for those men who may be regular Bunnings customers.
Over the last month I became a victim of a clever scam while out
Shopping.
Simply going out to get supplies has turned out to be quite traumatic. > Don't be naive enough to think it couldn't happen to you or your
Friends.
Here's how the scam works:
Two seriously good-looking 20-21 year-old girls come over to your car as you are packing your shopping into the boot. They both start wiping
Your windscreen with a rag and Windex, with their breasts almost falling out
of their skimpy T-shirts. It is impossible not to look.
When you thank them and offer them a tip, they say "No" and instead ask
You for a ride to another Bunnings. You agree and they get in the
Back-seat.
On the way, they start undressing. Then one of them climbs over into the
front seat and starts crawling all over you, while the other one steals
your wallet.
I had my wallet stolen Sept 4th, 9th, 10th, twice on
The 15th, 17th, 20th, & 24th 29th.
Also August 1st, 4th, twice on the 8th,
16th, 23rd, 26th, 30th, three times last Saturday and very likely again
this upcoming weekend.
So tell your friends to be careful.
P.S. Big-W has wallets on sale for 2.99 each.
