It's pretty much all been said. Was a great weekend and I cannot thank Timbo enough for organising it. Everything ran as smoothly as a Reliance tuned RX8

As for photos, I picked up a CD before I left which had 70 photos on it. But as they are all of my car on the track I wont bore you with them Needless to say there are lots of photos out there.

I'm no 11 (the ugly one of the two!)

Bring on the next one I say

Choppy, I think Revolver has your trophy. better contacting him if you want to pick it up
Yes playa, choppy ran a great time. I urged him to put on a performance for me and beat his previous best time (1.17).

Great driving from you all thow

Adrian

Choppy,

It was Rod. Told us some great stories about your one handed steering technique, complete with actions. All in good fun mate - he was impressed by your ability and the numbers are on the board. Well done.

The guy was an experienced RX-8 racer but I am unsure on what times he was doing. I'd say it may have been close. REgards

Hi there all

As mentioned more than once it was a well organized day, it was good to see first timers having a "go".
The RotorMaster Supercharged car was good to watch and listen to and I hope they sort out there overheating problems.
Some cars had been testing different tyres with an interesting outcome they proved the bridgestone SO3 were .6 a sec slower than the standard Potenzas. And I presume the other RX8 driver being spoken about was Ric Shaw. The Ric Shaw time of 1.13.2 was on the slow bridgestones, so if his car, (which does not have a modified engine i.e no supercharger etc), was running on the "R" compound tyres like the RotorMaster car was the times would have been a lot different cause as we know "R" comp tyres are worth at least .8 to 1 sec a lap.
Its a shame Mazdas Turbo car didnt show people what it was capable of, maybe next time, So again well done to the organisers.

I was impressed by Ric's time too. Just goes to show what the car is capable of in the hands of a professional driver. His car is modified though - a piggy back ECU, bigger brakes and modified suspension are three that immediately come to mind.

...all of which made cronullarx8's time more amazing. His is a stock car but for 245's on stock rims (which I reckon is a bad track combo).

exactly, and I think he was on the "slow" tyres as well.
Well done Rod.

We are back now too. Got in well after midnight last night! We slowly drove the car into Canberra Monday morning for the repairs - something to note: Stud replacement on the RX8 is not as easy as on many cars, there is a risk of damaging bearings in the Hub when being done but all went fine. Just took longer than we had hoped. Still we had the chance to enjoy a coffee around the corner from the dealer with Timbo, and talk about next years meet... Thanks Timbo.

We arrived back at wakefield to pick up all our stuff around 4 in the afternoon to see the finish of another groups trackday. We sat and watched a orange Lotus Exige lapping very fast and finished with him spinning out in front of us on turn 9, do a 360 and then drive out of it. Very impressive and a fantastic car!

Sunday was enjoyed from the balcony of our villa's overlooking the track watching bikes. They are crazy going into corners 20 deep and a few coming off!

Overall a really fun weekend even if it did go for longer than expected... But hey it would not be Australian to leave a man down.

So out of all the attendee's who is now hooked.

Glad to hear the stragglers made it home safely Stu and Taka.

And forget about tyres people. Have fitted my shiny new Auto-Exe shift **** - it has to be worth at least 2 secs a lap!!!!!

Dont forget a "Thanks" to DAZ-13B there Taka, for looking up the Mazda computer at 7pm on a Saturday night to inform you the stud is common to most Mazda's thereby removing the stress of an obscure dealership having some in-stock......
