RX-8 tops JNCAP braking test

So the brakes are good... just don't forget that the guy behind you probably isn't in an RX-8... unless you're on a cruise :p

Good to see that we can stop a little quicker than the Mazda 3 - at least in the dry.

According to the figures quoted the 3 actually stops slightly quicker in the wet than the RX8 does.

Presumably the RX8's control systems are trading a little bit of stopping distance for a greater degree of control in a wider range of circumstances - i.e not just straight line braking. One would hope so anyway. :D

Who are the people doing the tests? presumably they only test Japanese made production cars, or products made by their members, or whatever??

Anybody know what sort of braking figures you'd get for other cars? Porsches, or whatever?

Yea, what's up with that. The 3 stops 3 meters longer in the wet than the dry, but the 8 takes 6 meters more in the wet than the dry?

lots of things, such as tires and the EBD, ABS etc. will affect this. Weight has a large effect in the rain too.

Unfortunately much of the text are gif's which can't be translated. And the English version of their site is not up to date.

Who can see the big picture here.

Recall those ridiculas adverts on the two guys crashing a Falcon into the tanker truck. One doing 60, the other at 65. The 65KPH car taking over 30m to stop..........

Just picture the Falcon struggling from 65kph as the RX-8 outdoes it from 100kph........lol

What a load of propaganda crap. Sure hope no one here is stupid enough to believe yet another Gov scam into controlling us.......

The only way a new Falcon can stop from 65 in over 30m, is if granny is driving & can;t hit the brake pedal hard enough.............lol
