yah, if you rev the RPMs up high, and let it out VERY slowly, you can get a clear launch. however you can only do this a handful of times, because then you blow your clutch So much faster.

The RX8 is not meant to be a drag racer from a dead stop.

Answer: No. A 2.0s 60' time attests to that.

Hints:
  1. The RX-8 makes power high in the RPM.
  2. The tyres grip better when they are sticky .

Are you talking about from the lights on the street, or from the lights on the 1/4?

What is not good and clear about it?

Last hint, especially for L&L: Get an Automatic. They are Eeeeeasy. ROFLMAO!!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Launching from the lights on the street , i either squeal my tyres and not lauch smoothly or loose grip on the tyres .

The manual RX8S may as well be AUTOMATICS if it keeps getting done at the lights on take of by my wifes 1.5 liter Auto HONDA JAZZ :D

We need more power .arrrrg
cheers

Why do you need more power if you keep spinning your wheels and loose grip?

Isn't "squealing your tyres" and loosing grip the same thing??

The RX-8 is quick off the mark. I can easy do better 60' times than I could in that big grunty Commodore I had. 60' times is THE measure of launch.

Just put some traction fluid on your back tyres before you go for a burn. Hehehehe.

Cheers,
Hymee.

Well from experience at the track.
Here is how to do it.

1. Jump out of the car and drop tyre pressure to 20psi.
2. Smoke those tyres up good to get them warm.
3. Rev to 7g
4. Slip clutch out and launch.
5. Keep gas on when changing gears that is why you have a rev limiter :D
6. Run a 14sec pass. :D

Oh and have no fear of breaking parts as weak parts have not place in a sports car.
And forced upgrades are an easy justification to a partner/wife

For a good start at the lights L&L take DSC half off. You will find you will still slip alittle at the back end but it wont hold you out for long before you are hauling ***.
