Mazda has disclosed interior schemes to outside colours . red black, sunlight silver ,and titaniam grey .choice of cloth or red/black leather. while lightening yellow,nordic green , or the blue car only get cloth or black leather[ there is no provision for eg yellow with black yellow leather, iam certain that if you ordered black you may not get a black interior but have to seetle for red/black leather. this would also apply to silver or titanium gray either cloth or red /black leather interior... Considering most of the cars have been pre ordered you would think that we might get some say in choosing the interior as for my car i want yellow with black /yellow leather interior and wont be content with yellow with black leather interior ....Surely buying a car should be about choice ,so if your not content with the interior that has been chosen for you let mazda know ,your wallet speaks loudest prior to purchasing the car...

I saw this same information at the new Mazda Australia RX-8 website. They sent me an email today with a member's password. I had a good look through the members pages and was quite impressed with amount of new information provided.

I understand that in the car market in Australia, which is relatively small compared to Europe and the USA, dealers sometimes have to restrict the number of permutations of car options in order to maintain cost efficiencies. But it does seem odd that Mazda Australia won't be allowing the red & yellow leather to go with the yellow paintwork. Unless it is being mandated from Mazda japan like that.

 

Yeah i am peed off that i have to get a black leather interior on my yelow car at the same price as the guy who may get a red car but he gets the leather in red and black combination . Iamhaving a quote made to help work out extra cost in changing the interior to what i want yellow /black leather , i hope that mazda or maybe my dealer will help with the added expense .

 

it's not just australia. the yellow leather was dropped many months ago entirely. something to do with it not cleaning up well or aging to quickly, same for blue and silver/gray. all dropped for the same reasons.
