RX8 refuses to start...HELP please please!!!
2 weeks ago I got in the 8 and it would not start. Cranks but won't fire up.
After checking everything, i ended up replacing the plugs as they were old and crap (80K still original).
Tested for spark all seemed ok, tested for fuel all seems ok. Checked if the immobiliser had come on, nope.
Finally discovered that one of the coils may be a bit dodgy as the testing light wasn't as bright on one coil as the others. Ordered that so today replaced that coil.
Tried again and now its 2 weeks later and i still cannot start the car.
Please please please, its driving me insane!!!!!!!!
Ideas? I am out of them.

Arggh still won't start. Tried everything.
My new theory, the catalytic converter is rooted from trying to get it started with the dodgy coil.
Anyone else got any other theories. Keep in mind it was running perfectly, was parked for 2 days then wouldn't start.

If you have a spark and you have fuel, you need to check the compression in case you have a broken seal. Has to be done on a special machine to check all three chambers in relation to rpm. If this is normal you may have a flooded engine. Pull the plugs and fuse for the fuel pump , turn the motor over and over to expel all fuel from chambers, Clean plugs and reinstall.Reinstall fuse Have a couple of spare batteries available as it may take some time to get it to turn over and fire. Took my mechanic my battery and another before it finally fired after flooding caused by the panel beater turning engine on and only driving five metres before turning it off .

Thanks for the reply. I should of mentioned I have performed the un-flooding procedure many times.
If i purge all fuel, clean the plugs and put them all back in, it seems to start for about 1/10th of a second and immediately die, it won't go close to kicking over again without repeating the whole process again.
I can't see how it could possibly be a major engine issue considering it was 100% fine last time it was driven.

can't offer much advise other than to keep cranking.
I have done the same thing for about a week trying to unflood. new plugs both leading and trailing help.
pull the injector fuse and crank untill it wants to fire. this could be 2 big batteries worth of starting juice. then replace the fuse and try starting.

Well finally it started. Battery recharge followed by booster pack followed by various attempts at cranking and it finally fired up.
What a bloody mission.
Thanks for all the advice.

Yeah, I had a similar issue ... I thankfully live on the top of a big hill so roll starting was the solution I tried at the end. I was able to force it to start by letting the clutch out at a speed which was rather unsafe (on the third try mind you). It popped and crackled like a prat for about a kilometre after that; it didn't really want to start.
