I spoke to the install guys yesterday and they can also now do the 700 series for the RX8, this means that it slides completely into the roof and not aboveit as in the spoiler style. The price is $2100 and mine will be done next week, I will post photos after it is done so you can see them both.

I was told the interior roof level will not be any different between the 300 and the 700 series sunroofs, which is a factor for me considering I am 6"4'.

 

you bast... putting in the 700 series? I wanted that one. Will the opening be a big opening or will it be a small one? i ask that because of the centre bar that is in the middle of the car

 

So is this an aftermarket sunroof, but with oem equipment?
I spoke to a Mazda guy and he told me that you cant get the sunroof installed aftermarket as the sunroof version of the car is designed with structural changes to ensure crash integrity. but you never know with these guys, they dont always know what they are talking about.

I'd like to get this done to. Where abouts is this company?

IMHO its the only way to go(700series ) the other type of sunroof kills the RX8 lines , saw one in Brighton mazdas showroom

i quite like the 300 as it gives the car a little more beef as the 700 is like any other sunroof you see in australia but the 700 is nice too

 

spoke to the fitter today and he said that there is no way yoiu can put in a 700 without removing the roof thingy
therefore the 300 is the ideal sunroof for the 8

 

Is the 700 series sunroof a mazda accessory or is this from another company? Can we get it in Melbourne?

 

i'm not so sure now but the car dealer gave me the webasto company name and the fitter at webasto said that the 300 is for the rx8 not the 700

 

I'm in Melbourne as well and am wondering if we can get the sunroof down here... not that we have that we've been getting that much sun these days....
