I enjoy comparisons that confirm my car is "better" than another brand although the "check engine light" message appearing on the RX8 dash is a bit of a worry.....

the rx8 has never lost a comparison. it's never been passed on the track either. It's rumored the powerband of the rx-8 is what causes the earth to rotate in it's orbit around the sun.

The RX8 is not that slow of a car guys and I get kind of sick of hearing it is.
Sure it does not have the throw you back and pin you in the seat acceleration of a V8, but that is what makes this car so special. The smooth motion of the rotary is a thing of beauty.
Embrace it for that, it is very deceiving just how good it is because it is so smooth.

it can't throw you back because you end up with 130 lb/ft torque. But that's easily doubled with only a little boost. I've made many adults scream.... but they also think I drive crazy. So I donno if it was the torque, or the fact that I was doing 70 mph around a 35 mph curved road in the rain.
