Steve,

You'll be glad to know I made it through the Nats with a straight car. I'm even fitting some extra bling to impress the bridesmaids ( ).

Assuming we're all still good to go for the 5th.

LJ, sorry you couldn't make it on the weekend - you were missed.

Now, do you still want to set up a detailing session? If it's a hassle, I can get Zoomby to do it - he just loves the smell of car wax in the mornings . Get in touch and let me know.

I'm easy... I won't be back in town until later this week... but how about Sun AM??
I plan on doing mine in Sat AM... and keeping her under cover as much as possible...
If you're coming around.. I'll tee it up so you get to meet Will (my driver on the day)
Spoke to Rotor7 last week and thougt it might be an idea for Will to meet you before hand at your place and you can both do a quick detail and get the ribbons sorted before you stroll down to the brides place.

Sounds good - PM your address and what time you want me there on Sunday morning. I'll bring some ribbon and we can work out how best to put it on. Let me know if there's anything you want me to bring product-wise. I've got some assorted Meguiar's gear.

Good idea to have Will come around to my place on the day. We'll talk time and place (and route) on Sunday. We should also agree upon clothing - might take the shine off if we hopped out in boardies and 'I am the Stig' shirts.

How come you're not going to drive yourself? You heading OS again?

Steve, can you PM me with the pick-up and destination address (and ETA's for both) and any route preference just so there are no misunderstandings. BTW - I take it a burnout on arrival would be out of order??

Burnouts??
Will would absolutely wet himself if that was the order of the day... He's only 21 and already thinks he's the sheezneez because i said he could have my baby while I'm away. Plus he has a mate's 21st B'day on Sat PM after wedding duties.

Don't worry about products... my shed is a Megs showroom... I've taken to buying things in bulk... ie 4L containers.

I'm away from Wed-Sun, but not OS this time.... down in Melb..
It was a real bummer about the Nats.. couldn't stop thinking about it..

Anyway .. PM's you details bout Sunday...

Well, Will (driving LJ's car) and I are off to pick up the blushing bride and her (hopefully) hot bridesmaids tomorrow.

Wish us luck - will post some piccies when I get them.

Hmm, you know how people clean their house for when the cleaners come? Well Zoomby is coming over to detail the car for me tomorrow morning and I have an overwhelming urge to clean it beforehand just so he doesn't have a fit over it's usual state...

Mission accomplished albeit with a nasty scare for poor young Will.

Let's just say he got mildly accquainted with the brickwork adjacent to my garage. Looked worse than it really was but enough to give the poor bloke kittens. Offer still stands BTW LJ. Let me know how you go.

That drama aside the cars looked great and I'll hopefully get hold of the pro shots (and some video) upon the return of the happy couple from their honeymoon.

Some very restrained driving with the bridal party in the cars but I did manage a two gear Hymee redline salute upon our eventual departure.

There was a black 8 there too with cool red MOTEC plates and VERY nice 19' BBS wheels (Eric, you should have been there to boost them ) but, regrettably, it was an auto.

Er...Dave...that'd be Glenn Butcher's (see the M5 post below)...I think he's posted a better Wakefield time in that car than you..(or me)

(hmmm...thinking out aloud.....if Glenn's got all the MoTeC gear already...he'd be a prime candidate for a Hymee 4 port twin-screw upgrade.....those guys oughta talk )

Thanks for offering Rev.. but it's one fo those things you just have to accept as a possibility when you let someone else drive your car.. And whose to say that the outcome would have been any different if I was driving..

I'm just glad that it ended up working out ok for Steve.. When I first got the call from Will.. the way he sounded got me thinking that he may have totalled my baby...

Thanks for calming him down a bit.. cos I could just see his reaction over the phone...

The scratches aren't irrepairable.. and like I said, my baby is still undergoing repairs from a previous incident and I'm sure the repairers will just fix the new scratces at no cost.

LJ, how did you go with organising for them to get fixed again?

The groomsmen who were driving the car were under the impression that it did not have a MOTEC fitted.

And Timbo - it's not exactly as if I said the car was awful or anything - I was just disappointed in the choice of transmission in what otherwise looked to be a very nicely modded car. Each to their own on that one and I'm entitled to an opinion aren't I?

So spare me the crap.

And seeing as how I've now tracked a car twice in total it's hardly surprising most RX8 owners would beat me.

Glad to hear you're taking it so well LJ but I do feel partially responsible for asking him to nose it in there in the first place - it IS a nasty approach to a narrow gap and I should have known better.

Hope it all turns out okay for you.
