I'm looking at being home in a year or so and is looking like it will be cheaper to import the rx rather than buy again!
I think you done very well my son. I would definately be bringing it with you when you return as I can't see an Aussie dealer rolling over for more than AUS15K less than sticker.
Thanks for the good luck...it appears to be working.
Can you and Cmac come and negotiate for me?

Well I just asked my wife - her response was "Well what's there to discuss" as a statement not a question.
Further clarification is that this means "you are going to buy one anyway" not "no way you going to get one now/soon!" :D
Now whilst I still have to run some figures and actually do the negotiation with the dealers I am a damn sight closer to owning an RX-8 than before.

Actually I beg to differ...... it feels better just as you are leaving the dealership and start the drive home, not when you pull into the driveway.
At this point you are still in the learning exploratory stage.
You're trying to be gentle and take it easy, but somewhere deep down inside, you just want to push it harder and really test it's limits.
The adrenaline rushes and you are in a state of nirvana.
Time seems to elapse too quickly and all of a sudden you've pulled into the driveway and it's all over.
Within minutes you want to start it up and go at it again just so you can relive this feeling of bliss.
The only thing I can compare this experience to is to liken it to deflowering a virgin.

Gomez.
Gomez.
Going to try and keep it quiet amongst the family so that I can surprise them - my brother & I have a little competition with nice motor vehicles except that his have 2 wheels. He's just taken delivery of a Ducati 999S 2-seat version (replacing his yellow 996S) - his is the only black in Australia atm (Red & Yellow are delivery colours) and has had the passenger seat done in custom white leather. He's overseas for 2 more weeks lets see if I can take delivery before he gets back.
Personally I'm always most nervous pulling out of the dealership for the first time. I know a former colleague who lost the nose of his brand new company car approximately 30 minutes after getting the keys.

The idiots on the road seem to know you've got a new car. Must be that factory shine... makes them like bugs and headlights? Lost track of the number of close calls when I first got mine.
Best of luck getting yours soon.
