Well done mate, the thought of being dicked around by door kickers for the next 2 - 3 months didn't sit well with me. I was offered $26K cash from a wholesaler in December, now its down to $24.5K...who knows what the price will be by the end of the year...

Looking at various cars including going to the dark side with an FD RX7 Like Gomez

As u know the car market is getting weaker by the day , so patience will have its own reward ,the next few months is going to get really though especially for car dealers there are plenty of new models coming out , when car dealers are totally bent over i will pounce .guess i could have been a ruthless solicitor ?

I wasnt planning on selling my car but found a guy in WA who had to have a Yellow RX8 , AND ONLY YELLOW WOULD DO so i figured id sell him mine

Sold it within 4 days of coming back from my R & R Trip overseas .

Cheers
Michael

Fair enough...and I think you're right that the car market hasn't bottomed yet. Some great second hand bargains atm and they'll only get better.

Let us know what you end up buying...

It's always a sad day when the 8 departs

But then there's the expectation of a new car!
So Michael, I suggest you check out Monday's Pickles auction in Sydney

If you don't like a yellow Aston Martin Vantage, there's always the R8 (don't think of it so much as changing marques as simply losing a consonent!

Or the 911 Turbo...MY08. Bought with last year's bonus no doubt and now being liquidated to put food on the table...

Sorry to hear your loss too Michael. Hope you stick around a bit more.

Yeah it is sad that you can't keep the 8 forever... I am lucky enough to be able to keep it and get another BMW. The 8 is going to be garaged though :D

Timbo

You must have ESP , i was just drooling over the Audi R8 , most likely the guy who lost it will try and buy it back , i made an offer before the Auction , they laughed at $120,000

Cheers

If you are talking about Pickles, they always do...but if it's being sold on behalf of a finance company, the finance company will take what they can get...and keep hitting the poor bugger from whom they repossessed it for the rest. Pickles just want to clear their yard for the next one.

I bought a Volvo 740 Turbo wagon at auction in the early 90's recession. Bugger all on the odo, and for well less than a Falcadore wagon new with all the fruit (3 teenage boys, ok...stop smirking)

Commiserations.
I drove a 740 sedan from Sydney to Nowra and back once.
Softest car I have ever driven.

True, that...but a set of Koni adjustables and ARB settled it nicely. I still think of it as one of the best Q cars I've owned
