Don't worry, I haven't spent anything yet. Between Timbo and 'er indoors I'm lucky to have ANY fun!

I'm yet to contact Whiteline or Ric Shaw. Will keep you advised Mike.

harding performance is too far away....

visit Derek at European Autotech for APR re-flash or Seb @ EuroAutomotive for GIAC chip when you are in sydney next time ;-).

havent been following the polo ecu re-flash or GIAC chip development. you can always go into to european autotech and they will give you a 24hour ecu re-flash test drive (if available). from memory, GIAC gives a more "aggressive" tuning.

had GIAC chip before and was very pleased with it.

Sorry...didn't mean I was going to HP...just that they have a project car underway.

At the moment, APR is the only game; GIAC are working on something, so I'm happy to wait. Although like all these things there are advocates and detractors for each one, so it's hard to tell. Seb has a good reputation.

true. best to wait for a bit until they ahve sort things out. both seb and derek have good reputation. cant go wrong with either.
at the end of the day, it all depends on the outcome/result, price and aftersales service.
okay, we should stop hi-jacking this thread..... ;-)

Prior to the Rx8, I had a audi A4 1.8 T fwd. Decided to chip it with a 1 bar wetterer chip from Qsz in Melbourne. Was fast in straight line , but plenty of torque steer and bucket loads of wheelspin and traction problems. Definitely not a good idea to flash tune a fwd turbo in my opinion as the car looses its inherent balance, if it does not have traction control . I know the golf gti has traction control but not sure about Polo.

regards
Rexi

Mate - you're on the banned list. If you two ever get together I'll be reduced to a French diesel in no time!

But Timbo, I thought the Polo went, steered and stopped just fine as a stock car? Where are you going to use that extra performance? Surely the sensible thing to do would be to leave it all OEM?

Hmmm???
