Space saver brace bolts...
Did anyone resolve the question of whether we need to refit the brace bolts after removing the locating brace as described in this thread?:

Hmmmmm, Looking at the info again, the "nuts" are removed and refitted when bracket A is installed.
The bolts are supplied as part of the kit and are not OE....
So we can safely cruise about with the bar and bolts removed.
Note to self: RTFQ:D

Sorry ......... I disagree
The bolts you refer to hold bracket B onto bracket A. These are all in the kit.
The ones that hold bracket A onto the tower are not in the pack , they are original equipment.
So I still believe they need to be there ... but you are free to remove the bar, bracket b and the "B" to "A" bolts so you will create more space.
Of course I could be wrong!!

The result.....
Pull the brace bar and bolts out and store them in the garage, if you wish.
The "bolts" are supplied with the kit and do not have to be refitted after removal of the space saver brace bar.
The "nuts" that are removed to allow the fitment of bracket "A", are refitted after bracket "A" installation. In fact they hold bracket "A" in place and are presumably re-torqued by the dealer after installation...Yeah, sure!!
The confusion arose 'cos pricer01 (I think) misread my earlier post and saw the word "bolt", when I had said "nut".
The nuts need to be refitted, the bolts become ballast after removal of the bar.....
Wildcard and others...remove the bolts and drop .000003 seconds from your 1/4 mile time!!
I just wanted them out 'cos they look ugly and snag on stuff when I've got the boot full of gear.

pricer01, no wukkers, just needed an excuse to go outside and have a tinker with the car....
Coming from the Ford fold, I am constantly reminded of the difference in build quality when I get a close up look at the car....refitted the battery box cooling tube to the XR8 last night after it fell off.......
