Nah, don't encourage them. I prefer the common rabble where they are! Nothing worse than accquiring good taste by proxy! :D :D

Sorry BVD you missed my sense of humour. (Sarcasm is a form of humour.)
I should have posted a string of smiley faces and I apologise for not.

Since you are a qualified engineer I would have thought you had covered statistics and could see the irony in asking a radiator shop. Why not go to a prison and ask ‘who's in for committing a crime’; or sample the high security ward and finding 90% of them are in for violent offences. As a percentage of the ward it looks high but in terms of society as a whole it would be small part of the population.

And battered and bruised he gets back up off the canvas and starts swinging again! :D :D

Good on you rotarenvy. After what BVD dished out to you I respect you for coming back with an advance on your argument and a good attitude.

<sits back to see what BVD comes up with>

Ha! A promise made in front of witnesses - does this constitute a binding contract to supply me with some red if I reply! :D :D

Seriously though, I do agree with Rotarenvy's general points about how likely his car is to be vulnerable, as we obviously don't drive under the same conditions. It's his choice to make (Hey! big of me or what!!).

I also understand what he's driving at with the statistical argument. However, I just don't have the time to survey everybody in WA with my little clipboard and pencil.

And if I wanted to find out about frequency of certain crimes then, yes, I certainly would ask at the prison and not the sweetshop. And I would also expect that some of the staff there would also be able to put those figures in perpective with regard to the population as a whole.

I didn't ask either the rad shop, or my mechanic friend only whether it happens (because I already know that it does) - what I asked for was some sort of informal opinion as to whether it was overall a rare phenomenon, or reasonably common. They seemed to be saying the latter - but how common is "common" - well we'd need a bit more work with the clipboard for that. But I know how often I pick REAL stones out of my grille, and that's enough for me.

I think we've slapped each other around enough now - so I shall remove my hat and bow in Rotarenvy's direction. He's been tough and committed.

And then I'm off to the doctor's to see about some treatment for all this hook scarring from swallowing your bloody baits - you bastard Revolver!! :D :D

Cheers, Chris

Come on BVD - we're talking about good red here! Something that serious needs to be in the form of a deed, signed, sealed and delivered. Besides - I lack the mental competence and capacity to form binding contracts! :D

No point asking anyone in prison - don't you know nobody in there never did nuffink. :D

Persistence paid off yah! :D I'll let your last questionable comments go since I'm feeling nice.
To smooth things over I was going to write how my argument was questionable but I've sobered up now so no need to go down that road

The best argument for stone guards is that a couple of hundred$ can save you over $800 (hymee needs to pay me for that comment :D)
