Ricks Sway should be the same as everyone else?! I mean as in installation. What is the end link by the way --- is that the bolts I see in some other model of RX-8 sways?

Why no reply - I get reply of some of my question the next day. Ric does not do reply. Some other dude is.

$300 for a sway bar is kinna expensive c/f MazdaSpeed only $290. Sorry it just does as good and claim 30% stronger than stock --- same as Rics.
Only thing is Ric's can be adjust. I would like to see someone jack their car and adjust the sway on the street.

I am interested in the AP 4 pot caliber down later on. It is the best brake I have seen in RX-8 (according the RX-8 mag)

Taka, Ric's swaybars are advertised at $250 freight free to capital cities.....not $300. Who sells $290 MS swaybars in Melbourne?

MA were talking about $700/each (fitted) for the MS swaybars!!

L&L, PM NT Rotor Head, he has these bars on his car.....

sway bars are easy to install your self. Couple of hundred to install seems a bit rich to me.

Man, Ric's $250 is at the top of the range as far as I'm concerned.....and I'll happily do the spanner work.

$500 each installed is just bloody highway robbery, Ned.

$700....don't go there, girlfriend.....

From what I understand from Pettit racing, the end links aren't necessary to replace. I have racing beats and pettit was told by them not to change the links unless it is an outright race car.

$700 each it is ridiculus...

Oh sorry it is $400 av. from Japanparts.com shipped. I am shipping them with struts bars and brake pads... so averaging the cost. Otherwise, I WILL go for Ric's one.

So did we get to the bottom of the story?

Does Ric's bars come with uprated endlinks like the racing beat ones? I believe that the larger bolts on the RB ones require drilling out of the mount point. Smoothy should be able to fill us in.

Apparently the uprated links are required due to the extra forces coming into play with the siffer bars.

I suppose time will tell if there is a real need for the uprated links.

Cheers,
Hymee.

According to pettit racing endlinks are not required unless you are going to race the car .

So far it seems to be a 50=50 ratios as to endlinks requirement .

Still waiting for the answer from Rick

Mazfix has the racing beat ones at $350 front $400 rear +$150 for end links .

No mention as to wether end links are needed .

cheers

Hi Guys,

Sorry about the lack of feedback regarding the RicShaw swaybars, my computer has died a horrible death and I'm doing this at work!

OK, I discussed the endlink situation with Ric prior to buying the swaybars. Ric is of the opinion that upgraded endlinks aren't required for everyday driving. He's had the bars on his car for some time and used the car on the track and road and hasn't seen any degrading of the bushes or bending of the links themselves.

BTW, upgrading the swaybars and springs has really improved the handling of the car. It sits an inch lower all around, corners flatter and I feel the car is more predictable and stable. The ride comfort hasn't been compromised at all, and I haven't had any probs getting over gutters or speed bumps. I definitely recommend Ric's springs/sway bar package.

NT Rotor head

Thanks for reply , i personally believed that there was no need for the end links if you are mostly on the road and not racing.

Do you think it would be wise to fit them if you do a little bit of racing, for that is when they are needed?

Like the PS cooler I fitted to my old car. It was driven on the road 99% of the time, but it just wouldn't cut the mustard on the track without it. And it was OK to leave it on permanently for the other 99% of the time.

How much extra are they anyway?? I certainly wouldn't wan't them letting go mid way through turn 1 at QR, or coming out of six towards the concrete pit wall!

Cheers,
Hymee.

Edit: Noted - saw L&L mention of $150 from Mazfix. Thanks.

Sway Bars / Endlinks

The Racing Beat bars are USD334 and the End Links are USD48.

Not possessing the knowledge that some of you guys have here, my decision to get the End Links was based on the fact that once you commit to the bars (in my case from the US), the shipping for the End Links is pretty much free (they'll fit in the box with the Bars), and at roughly AUD80 landed, I thought it was i)worth the investment and ii)not worth the risk not too.

I agree with what everyone has said in this thread, but we all went pretty hard at Wakefield Park recently and this was one less thing that was on my mind.

All who went to Wakefield will agree that the handling of emack's car (and Ric Shaw's, wearing his own swaybars) was vastly better than factory setup.

BTW emack, and L&L, what progress regarding CZ's piggyback for Australia?
