Didnt see a single rx8 inside though :s except there was a yellow one with a mazdaspeed kit + stickered-to-the-max outside in the parking lot (RATEDX8)..anyone know who owns that?
The yellow rx8 belong to a guy from rated r designs (not the owner just one of the owner's mate) ... hope that help

Thanks for posting those Mike.

Shame the piccies can't also conjure the atmosphere of 50 over-priced sound systems playing bad rap at warp 10 but maybe I'm just getting to be an old bastard.

Some random memories a day later:

1. My son's confusion at the lack of Happy Meals at 9.00am (we don't get to Macca's often - was his first "breakfast").

2. The number of men with tattooed arms - I thought for a second the queue outside was an extras call for "Prisonbreak". Still, they were all "individual".

3. The biggest damn dubs I've ever seen on a bright yellow Hummer at the Tempe Tyres stand. Waist high (Mike took a pic I think).

4. The green (?? kept changing) Cyber RX7.

5. The red NSX behind (my fave 'modified' car there).

6. The yellow Gallardo (happy to trade in all the blinged up 200SX's and WRX's for one of them).

7. The wonderful red on one of the old skoolers (Belmore sticker from memory) - real deep crimson. Would look fantastic on an 8

8. The, ahem, belly button jewelry of the show girls...not that I noticed...much.

9. The pink snake skin inserts on an S2000.

10. Some very funny number plates.

11. The "I love rice" T-shirts (Mike just shook his head when I suggested we get one as a Nats prize).

12. Far too many WRX's and Nissans - a single RX8 would have been sweet relief.

13. Ahh, look at Mike's pics.

In short - great fun for an hour or so but you wouldn't wanna live there...

Dave, totally agree with the music. Dont know what happened there, wasnt that 'crazy' last year or the years before.

Usually its cordinated properly, yesterday it seemed there was a (real) DJ every 10 cars apart all mixing different genres of music. It really made a lot of people dizzy, esp those I happened to bump into and have a quick chat with! SO no, you're not getting too old :P

didnt have time to go, but have seen a few pix here and there.

the colour on the cyber FD is called PPG silver to green. its one of the harliquen coloures. that particular colour have been arund since 1999. the pix just wont to justice to ANY harliquen colours. i have my "tiger claws" airbrushed in that colour on my astina with it its last respray. those harliquen colours were the "in" thing back in 1999/and early 2000's........ dont know why danny kept using that colour, considering he can pretty much get his hands on any of the PPG colours... its so unlike him....

I'm sure that'll change once the 8 becomes more affordable to the younger mod brigade. Give it 2 years and I reckon you'll see more 8's than 7's.

I guess you right but again not many people find 8's are worth while doing it up cause it is non turbo and drink a lot of petrol n oil.. but I dont care I love my 8 so much dont want to part from it hehe

Understand the point re: turbo. I guess I assumed that within 2 years various FI kits for the 8 will be more widely available and the donor car will be more affordable as the earlier cars get older.

I dont think I will ever turbocharged or supercharged my 8 at this point of time cause I love to keep it natural aspirated more fun to drive.. but turbo 8 will be good i reckon but i prefer instead of putting bolt on turbo kit changing the whole engine to RX7 series 8 engine cause it is newer than series 6 one

if you have done alot of works since last year (the one we went "together"), then it is probably a good idea to hold on till sydney auto salon 2007. thats only if you are going to compete. otherwise you'd waste the points in 2006.

good luck finding half a handful of modded rx8's in sydney to beat the 7's....... give it another 5 years when the 2003/4 8's are more affordable.... then they will be taking the 7's place.... and expecting to see some with 20B setup

not really.... back in my early days when i was competing fulltime, i was able to ****** the best mazda trophies a few times (from memory.... about 4 times) from the rx7 dudes.... i can tell ya, they werent a happy chappy when they see a turbo'd 4cylinder hatchback getting the maddest mazda trophy.....

there is always something more special when there is "show" AND "go" in a show car.... maybe thats just me

The reason I might go for 2006 because the business where I done my interior might want me to go

I serious cannot imagine rx8 with a 20B in it hehe but yeah like I said I love to keep my 8 natural aspirated cause I love driving natural aspirated car

What car you use to ****** the award from the rx7s?? hehe I would love to imagine the look on their face .. priceless

I dont think I will change my car colour for now but I would love to get top secret gold colour for the 8 something different hehe

I agree with both show and go but I am not into turbo n stuff so I don't know how can I make my car go too but I do have some mods like exhaust system and intake n stuff n now all I need is manifold and computer... anyone got any suggestion?? I am thinking re amemiya manifold but I don't know wat computer good for my car (auto)??

I think if all the rx8s owner from interstate gather up we can manage to get couple of good rx8s have some confident mate... hehe I believe the 8s can beat the 7s now hopefully.. or am I day dreaming about this??

JDM- you are dreaming about the RX8s beating the RX7's. Put it this way, if I got an opportunity to buy an FD, id take it without even thinking. Waitin for the day. Love my 8, but in my opinion the FD is so much more sexy. FD and rx8 are in different classes. FD much more slick and sporty/powerful. The RX8 has the comfort factor, bit more 'luxurious'. They'll never both be in same class.
As for keeping the RX8 N/A because you prefer it...... yeah SURE. Its like you telling me you'd refer to buy the RX Subaru instead of the WRX STI.

Guys too much sucking happening on this forum lately. Kunz, just marry JDM.
Fair enough if you like FD.. I didnt say FD is bad.. FD is a good car in my opinion.. Again both of them are from different class like you said but they both still a rotary car and both looks good.. but when I said keeping the RX8 N/A is different from buying RX instead WRX cause RX and WRX both Impreza so no point getting RX since there is a turbo version ahead of it.. and so keeping the 8 N/A is not like getting RX instead of WRX cause in order to turbocharge the 8 u have to buy a bolt-on kit not like you can get the top of the range rx8 in turbo like the impreza class if you get what I mean

Ummm I don't think that is called "sucking" that is wat u call appreciating wat other people done hehe cause I respect everyone who can done up their car into become something that they like.. so i assume wat u said about sucking is just a joke
