Hmm, all because I was complimenting someone on how they've done a great job on their rx8?

Jeez, grow up Kall. Quit the insults while people still have a decent amount of respect for you.

I am a man on a mission at the moment cause I am sick of the state of this forum that I get so much out of. And I am sick of the way its heading so excuse me while I stand on my soap box.

I still have plenty of respect for Kall. For the work she has done on her car and for putting up with the BS that you guys continue to dish out cause you assume anything and everything is a bloody insult.

Sorry JDM but if your looking for a fightyou are gonna find fault in everything. I agree that there was possibly better wording that could hav been used and possibly a smiley or two, but if you are interested in contributing, you will just ignore what you take as an insult and get on with your point.

Dnt get me wrong, I have been a culprit of biting a few peoples head off when it probably wasnt necessary. I am far from innocent, just thought I would try and calm things down and get back onto what is an interesting topic.

You know that when you build something. It does not have to run... at least not on the road.

So build a tubro RX-8 and hook it up to a NOS and for 3 runs of dynos.

I am sure you will win f&*)ing everyone they offered.

I saw the KING of autosalon - roll his car in and out of the flat back and never see it running.

Thanks JDM,

STIG???? Watch TopGear! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Stig

I have something NOT on the site - they are not secret but I just cannot be bothered (yes I spell it correctly this time ). Like Semi slick (Bridgestons RE55S), FEED plugs, plug cord, V power, and interior LEDs, etc...

Stock VS Carbon fibre bonnet

Yes I posted a thread about the RE Amemiya bonnet before.
It keeps the inside cool, but the oil temp and water temp is only reduced by 1 degree (gasp!).
It costs a lot of money say $700. I can have some fresh semi slick rubber for track (well at least 1/2 a set).

Well it looks great - REALLY GREAT!. I love it, but priority is not there at this point

Those Bridgestones RE55S are really expensive set of tyres arent they?? yeah i guess you set your priority already maybe one day when you win a truck load of cash then you can spend the money to build your car into a "TOUGE MONSTER" hehe

Yeah I love to test car and go, "hayaii~~!"

RE55S is semislick so they are painful on the road. But they are significantly cheaper than my Michellin. $380 vs $560-$590

Good comment.

I love the fantasy of AutoSalon type contests and respect the effort that goes into them but there's no doubt the pointy end of the competition is significantly divorced from reality (not that there's anything wrong with that ).

Nothing wrong at all. It is similar to fast and furious that the moves are all out of the rules of physics - try jumping out of the bridge and get so much air time

Do not know where Touge is held. Secret But the road does not look like in top form. Been to Japan for Ski season until the end of it and I can tell you the mountain passes to those hills are much better than Australia and are equal if not better than Europe. Generally Japan have fantastic road - and certainly their track are much better. They will call a MASE circuit a goat track and we have one similar quality and called "Sandown International Raceway"

maybe someone want to organise a TAS trip for next year.... and orgainsed tour to major tuning shops....

im sick and tired of the so called kings not driven on the road.... whats the purpose of building a car and lock it up in a garage and make it a garage queen? you dont ususally see top 10 show cars on the road... driven that is (on the flatbed doesnt count!)

kall's 8 is one of the very few from here that have the decent show and go mods done to it.
show = her VR paint is nothing like others i have seen from factory, her gold sparkles will put my sparkles to shame!, it is lowered, has eyelids, wheels and bebadged. go = aftermarket catback exhaust, lowered springs with matched koni yellow sports, short shifter, K&N panel filter. she hasnt done anything that would "decrease" the performance of the car..... dont worry, thats not all, we have planned a few things for the coming weeks.

JDM, yes, the facial experssions from the rx7 guys were priceless.... my choice of weapon back then was a mazda astina hatchback.

I dont mind going to TAS but it will cost a lot of money and plus I dont none of us can speak Japanese here maybe you should learn n be the tour guide hehe... yeh I agree about the car that become the king but cannot be driven basically as long you do up your car until that car cannot be driven anymore then you become a king hehe It is always good to have a car that both show and go but even better building up a sleeper car hehe just like how you build astina hatchback n build the rx7s that would be such unforgettable moment

I tend to agree but I suppose most forms of motorsport taken to their limit result in 'unreal' vehicles. Depending on the rules of the game, it's the natural result of competition - especially when there's money to be made out of it.

Think about pro athletes - while their performances can be entertaining to watch are they really relevant? Do we really aspire to being good at only one thing, often at the cost of other things in life.

I'm also finding top end racing like F1 pretty irrelevant these days. While I suppose such racing still improves the breed to some extent as teams come up with ingenious ways to work around rule changes, the artificial means by which they've tried to create closer racing has made a mockery of the long term claims about F1 being at the forefront of car development.

Sorry, I'm probably dragging this off topic. I guess you just have to accept the AutoSalon world for what it is - an 'unreal' environment. You either compete on those terms or not.

used to have ppl asking me why i'd take my show car out for a drive on the weekends? my reply always was.... this is the best part of owning a show car, drive it.

im always out at bondi, city, the rocks and gong with mates.... even when i was competing fulltime. ended up coming 7th overall (ie. australia wide) in year 2000. back then i was one of very few driving top 10 shows cars on the road.

All to your credit Eric.

Firmly agree that there's little point owning a desirable car unless you drive it.
