Sydney cruise 9th or 16th Sept.
I've got a few people keen on a cruise. As its late notice, perhaps we won't get many hands for this week, but we'll give a try anyway as well as show of hands for next Sunday, the 16th of September, and if that out numbers we might hold it till then.
Perhaps someone with more knowledge (lordjay, Revolver?) of the Akuna Beach destination (refer to https://www.rx8club.com/australia-new-zealand-forum-37/best-cruising-roads-sydney-125880/) could chime in as to where we could meet up thats most convenient as well as any pit-stops along the way for food and drinks.
Show some hands guys and we can have ourselves a cruise!

Yea Akuna Bay is Sweet. I'll tell people how Akuna Bay Rd and West Head Rd works:
Akuna Bay is a windy road that goes from the Top of the Nat. Park to the bottom next to Akuna Bay and the Pittwater Basin.
West Head Rd is more straight and not as windy. It stretches for 12km and ends at the West Head Lookout.
Each place has parking and areas to sit down, although the last pit stops where you would get food/drink is in Terrey Hills, and Church Point.
Oh and there is a 50% chance you have to pay the $12 entry fee at the toll booth to enter the National Park.

Okay, hahaha, we need to decide what we're doing.
The scales on the other thread are tipping towards Hornsby-Windsor but I really don't care.
Why don't we at least have Hornsby Maccas at 9am as a hard point and we can always decide then and there re: destination...

Well that was a fun morning.
Catching up with some old friends and meeting some new faces is always good.
Being lead car though the gorge and with an open road let me try out the new suspensionand tyres..... All good.
A nice run out to wiseman's ferry and lunch.
All followed by an interesting drive home. The GPS navigtion took me on roads that I didn't know existed with lots more opportunity to test the driving and handling skills.
All in all a great day. Thanks to Dave and Tuan for organising it.
Till next time.... Otto
