Sydney Motor Show Pics
I attended the Sydney Motor Show yesterday with the fam and had a pleasant wander around.
I thought I'd start a thread so those who attend can share some pics with the rest of us.
To kick it off, I'll share some of my ordinary shots.
Here's the Saab concept, which was probably the most impressive thing there (IMHO). It was completely driveable and forget about ciao's scissor doors ( ) - imagine rocking up to the local shops and hitting the button on this thing.

What are ya gonna do with your old F1 cars - hang 'em on a wall of course.
BTW, the default option for manufacturers without a decent concept car was to display an old(ish) race car for the masses to ooh and aah at - e.g. Suzuki, Renault, Mitsubishi (mind you Honda did have a concept as well).
Of course Ferrari, Bentley, et al didn't need to bother with such trivial drawcards.
Hey, I just realised that Aston Martin weren't there (or if they were, they had the smallest stand in history).
I'll post some more later - social commitments beckon...

I really must learn to get the whole car in the frame!
I have a hard time getting the room to do so in the crowds.
Pity I couldn't take shots of the other models on display either. Some very tasty bodywork about.
BTW, there was an 8 on display (weird green colour) but it was tucked away behind the Kabura "feature wall" with the MPS models.
Talk about hiding your lights under a bushel.
Now come on guys - I'm sure I wasn't the only one in attendance. Let's have your pics from the Show. They have to be better than mine...

I went, but didn't take a camera. On the whole, I thought it was a little disappointing. IMO, the classics in the Shannons auction display were by far the most interesting cars there.

it uses the new honda SH-AWD system (torque-biasing all-wheel-drive system).
maybe this will be the new accord in 1-2 years

We went... lasted about 30 minutes before we got sick of the crowds & went to cockle bay wharf and got drunk instead... :p..
TT is nice, but no... couldn't do it...
F430 Spyder - I'll take 7 thanks!!...
had a 10 minute sit and demo of the RS4... my Mrs was in the drivers seat - with the key in the ignition- how she resisted starting it I dunno... we've crossed it off the list of potential new cars though after speaking to mate who has driven one a fair bit- it's going to be too dull, and it's hard to drive in traffic( lightweight flywheel and a clutch with no feel) and the pedal heights are all wrong... still going to go and test drive it though- just cos.... :p..
shame it was a non porsche year... just have to wait til December went we get to drive the entire range in one day.. :D

Agreed on the F430 (damn, they're a sexy beast ) and the TT. I've heard similar about the RS4 and I think they're too conservative in the looks dept too. Sound wicked though.
Sigh, just gonna have to save my money until I can get into Porsche territory...

yeah we were slack and decided mid sunday arvo was out only time to be able to make it comfortably AND still get drunk!...
we had BIG chat to a mate of ours who has owned lots of porkas, and now deals in prestige stuff, and given our fussiness, requirements, and love of cars, he reckons there is only 1 choice - wait and buy a Porka... most likely a Boxster S, but I have a feeling my better 1/2 will fall in love with the 997 S, and then we'll have to wait some more...
