.........NOT!
Had my RX7 booked is for a service at Paradise in Adelaide this morning.
Pulled in to the carpark to be confronted by one of their salesmen telling me "don't use the carpark as a racetrack". Now I was just looking at him not knowing what he was on about and said"excuse me"
So he went on to explain (in an argumentative way) that their speed limit was 5km/hr, I maintained that I was not driving excessively, he kept arguing so I drove off without my service.
Interestingly the week before I had the RX8 in for a service. Was charged for 5L of oil, so I brought up the fact that I have paid for more than was used. Service bloke said the oil was in the car, guess what .....it wasn't. So he called me after I left to tell me that it wasn't in there....how convenient.
So after the incident today I received a call from the service bloke (the dealer principle couldn't even speak to me except to relay the message that they are standing by their salesman), who then informs me their speed limit is a strict 5km/hr.....etc,etc, OH&S, etc, etc....were you doing more than 5km/hr. Of course I was, I mean how hard is it to keep a car at 5km/hr, I was probably doing 10km/hr, nudging 15Km/hr.
So I have asked them to send me my unused oil or a refund, remove me from their mailing list, and found their comment regarding the use of the carpark as a racetrack extremely offensive ( despite the fact that I kept on maintaining that i respect their OH&S policies) and to send their salesmen to customer diplomacy courses.
What's more, today I was going to look at an MX5 or a 3 series to replace my ageing MX5.

Pain in the *** those guys.
I went into service too. And the service guys only have my quote for my miniservice without the details of what I am going to change. He had I look in his face when I asked them to do this and do that. He then said, "you are getting your money worth"... I just change the oil, oil filter, air filter and brake fluid, also swap and balance wheels.
I have to admit, it was $100 cheaper than the nearest quote in Melbourne.
Hard to get good service nowadays

AMG i just came back from Adelaide (wedding) realising i have around 1000 cousins (italian). Saw some very nice cars while i was there Lambo Gallardo @ Glenelg, porches, 1 ferrari, 7 series Bmw's, Lotus 111s etc.... and i was only there for 6 days. Saw 2 Rx8's 1 silver and 1 red. Partied hard at North Adelaide Melb st (Lyon Bar) and also seen some mansions (the sandcastle massive house) @ Berkside Park?? i think anywayz all in all was good.
Sorry to hear for the customer service, i think those people need a slap sometimes

Ageo, should have hooked up, I could have taken you to some of my friends houses so you may have had a chance to go for a spin in some of those cars. :D
Anyway, I tried 5km/hr in the 8 last night .........damn near impossible without coming to a close stall, I imagine the RX7 would have been more difficult.

I had the same "technician forgot to put the oil in the boot" from Paradise (got them to courier it out to me). I guess every four services they do that on (probably across the entire range rather than only the 8) they save themselves (but not their customers) fifty bucks.

AMG,
Paradise Mazda has crap customer service. Go to City Mazda, I have nothing but praise for those guys. The girl in my office who bought her auto (!) RX8 went to Paradise first, but was upset at how the sales guy wouldn't even talk to her but addressed all answers to the male friend (who was only there for moral support), so she subsequently went and bought it from City.
I am getting my "H" flash done at City on Friday, as well as my 30k service. Later this month I'm taking the car up to Byron Bay again for a couple of weeks. I'm planning on making Adelaide to Dubbo on the first day, then a leisurely drive through the conservative heartland of NSW up to Byron on the second.
