They have ... it is a big thick single layer aluminum. That is one choice locally, if it fits. (*I heard Stu said that it need modification of somesort to fit that in
)

Yes it is designed for the RX8 and I know of 2 people (one of them a forum vendor, the other was a how to article in a magazine) who have installed it. To get it to fit both had to very carefully bend some metal pipes. Coolant or Air Conditioning I cannot remember. This was probably about 12 months ago!

Has anyone tried putting a MoTec M800 into an RX8? Just curious to know whether anyone has had much success in tuning the Renesis for street/ track applications using the M800.
I know the Grand Am RX8 racers use MoTec M800 and seems to be making some positive power gains... and since it's an Oz made product perhaps it's the way to go. I don't care about emission laws... if there is some gains to be made I am willing to look into it.
Taka, been looking at the M800 - with the right setup, it also gives real time telemetry and lap times. I wonder what the setup cost would be? Mate - we might need to get a real race suit - for looks only! Hahaha!
Please share your thoughts!

Hymee is using a Motec as one option for his supercharger development. I think it may still be fitted to Wildcard's car, but can't be sure. Certainly, Hymee and his friends as GSR should have lots of experience on Motec tuning by now

For what it's worth, there's a black 8 in Sydney with BBS wheels that sports MOTEC plates.
If you can find him, that guy should be able to give you more info.

Agree... M600 can do the same job for less.
Can anyone say how much gain can be achieved? (Mid range and top end)
Would be great to get some sort of figure.
Anyone in VIC with a MoTec system? Or anyone else out there who's willing to share some info about installing a MOTEC system in an RX8.

Uprated 2 or 3 core radiator.
Sports CAT (Hi flow)
Lightened flywheel
^Pretty much like the Promaz setup but using MoTec minus radiator upgrade. I was wondering whether we can get the Grand Am boys using MoTec to supply us with their engine mapping.

Next year, my warranty expires 05/07. Exciting times ahead.
I might check out the PROMAZ boys to see their dyno graphs. Seems like they've developed their package using their own RX8 and looks pretty good in terms of price ($2000 tune and fitted Microtech LT10s) as a starting point. I wonder how much more they can tune if they had used a sports cat on their test mule RX8???

Why do you want more power ???? ![Dunno](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/dunno.gif)
I am pretty much keep up with the Porsches boys. I think another 20kW at the wheel may not significantly improve your time if you comes out of the Sandown straight in LOWER THAN OPTIMAL speed.
You see the Porsches 911 needs 270kW to pull me away for 20m up the straight
You now get what I mean. $2000 will buy you a set of semislick or Tein. ![Big Grin](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
On the street - why do you want more power in a 60kmh zone

WHat Taka said, but on top of that, i personally dont see the poit of a hiflow cat as the potential gains are so minimal. Find me something that gains some reasonable torque down around 1-3K rpm and I will consider it.

As I've said... this year is a learning curve for me. Next year will be a track attack with semi slick and Tein coil over setup. Possibly a MoTec there as well... but I am still 50/50 on an engine upgrade. I am just hoping I improve throughout the year to make me move my RX8 fast.

I don't need power on the streets... I hardly drive my car

May 17 is the next Sandown Drive Day. Who's coming?

More power and torque is good if it comes cheaply.
So far we have to inject A LOT of money to make it fast.
Tyre, sway, strut, suspension and brakes is the way to go at this point. I wish there is a magic fix out there too....

The final day of the track season finished with a bang ![Frown](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/frown.gif)
Lucky it is not from me but a friend of the Honda club Eddy. Ouch for the broken Mugen bront bumper.
It was very wet.
I tracked with Michellin PS2 thinking that I just get more time with lower grip tyre and more info of my suspension and happy with the way it goes.
Here are my findings
Wet - stay off the course - I have tonne of understeer. Better to change to softer damper setting and the front and rear settings are further apart (ie the rear is much softer compare with front). Drop the pressure right down
Semi wet - can get firmer and near as firm as in the dry but the pressure still down.
I have done toe out for the front this time... feed back is EXCELLENT.
I also increase the front camber to 2 1/4 degree and the wear is right in the middle![Cool](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
The rear camber is at least 1 3/4 for the rear - and it response well
With worn out front tyre (down to last 20%), no brake (*my EBC call it a day at the end - change pad today), low in fuel, semi wet and with a passenger. I did a respectable 1:52.

It was a top day out at Winton yesterday. I was hand timing Taka and watched as his laps got progressively faster as the track less wet. You could hear his Pilot Sports squeel each time on the S on the main straight.
I was lucky enough to get 7 laps as passenger out in a friends 1.6 NA classic Datsun racecar in the wet. He grew up rallying so all I can say was Holy ****. The sideways car control was increadible especially experiencing his Scandenavian Flick technique through the S on the main straight
On a very wet track in the rain on his Toyo R888 semi slicks he did a 1:52.7. Later in the dry was able to punch out a 1:38.1.
All I can say is I want to learn to drive like that... WOW!!
Now am very much fired up for the next track day

Did you not take the 5 out Stu?
BTW, after reading Taka's wish list for his 8 (see turbo thread), I'm even more convinced that an NA MX5 will be my (cheap
) track day weapon of choice. I'm not on a doctor's wage after all.
