Yep.... there's lots of turbo autos out there, ranging from the current Falcon XR6 turbo, through the Liberty GT, and Mazda offered autos with many earlier turbo RX-7s from Gen 2 on. The big ***** is, of course, the Eunos Cosmo 20B which had a triple rotor, twin sequential turbos....and only came in auto (same one as Nissan uses in the Patrol, as I recall) :p

the reason , i asked is that;

one of the trade off with my wife was -> i get to choose the car but it got to be auto. so she can drive it too!

hence i got a auto rx8

...then you can rest easy, knowing she is safe from the likes of Lock & Load, who otherwise might go predatory upon seeing a nice lady driving an 8....but, to our good Lock, autos are like a silver cross to a vampire....DD:D

Hey, if you search, I think you will find an auto 8 holds the fastest, officially recorded lap time around Wakefield Park (not driven by a professional)

Greddy turbo for RX-8 4AT

http://www.re-amemiya.co.jp/rx_8/04_turbo_kit_rx_8.html

This is the website of Re Amemiya that co develop the Greddy turbo for 4AT version of RX-8.

I suggest you look at the Automatic gear box oil temp at the same time.

Someone cannot work out the e Manage with the 4AT.

If Jap offer as a kit, it must work. They must learn how to read Japanese. Stupid Americans.

BTW... I have been talking to a Blitz/Greddy/HKS distributer in HK. I am more interested in the HKS S/C then the Greddy turbo - but for 6MT 3 intake port Renesis.
They are less in demand in Japan than in the US. Only a few sold so far in Japan.

Turbo + auto rotary works well.

My Eunos Cosmo kicks serious **** but with over 500 nm of torque (Yes, its modified) in a totally driveable package the auto works well.

Tonight, I am driving a series-4 convertible. Its running a 13Bt + auto & still works well. The only bitch is its a slug off the line & you need the turbo to make it do anything serious.

The way the boost stays on hard as the upshifts occur allows plenty of accelleration to catch a manual version as it sweeps through its gears

I though the whole reason of making the AUTO less powerful was due to the gear box not being as strong??

I don't think it is about power so much as the revs which the auto won't handle, but I will happily defer to those more knowledgeable on this
