Could not concentrate on anything you said as i was distracted by your new avatar , ha ha ha. :D
Agreed Allan horsley has done a great job with the Australian MX5 turbo being more powerfull than the japanese one.
Warranty is important to a point , but i am convinced that the right system correctly tuned shouldnt give us too many headaches .
At my age 2 years is a heck of a long time to wait for a Australian Mazda turboed RX8 i want it ASAP.
Iwant to fly low now., and not just drivefast
cheers

In England in the early 80s there was a turbo RX-7 produced by the Elford tuning company before Mazda produced the Japanese spec series 3 12aT.
Again in England (2 examples this time) at least one company produced V8 MGBs before the factory and at least one produced a hard-top version of the roadster before the factory. I'd have to go to my books to even remember the name of the coachbuilders.
Did you know that Dick Johnson produced at least one 6 cylinder turbo charged falcon in the late 80s?
Peter Dichera (spelling?) produces wilder, more powerful, production plated Commodores and Monaros than HSV under the Corsa name - but how many do you see around or hear about?
Mazda are conservative with the Rotary because they can be. It's pretty easy to build a 300 or 400hp RX-7 that weights less than 1000kgs (or 1200kg if you want a series 4/5) - that doesn't mean the factory should.

Hmmm i see your point , maybe i should have said that 2-3 years would be too late for me to wait for forced induction . :p
Not wanting to jump ship but i am already considering my next purchase , but will keep RX8 as my weekend toy . :D ( if it can be supercharged /turboed ) :D
cheers

As for the technicalities of the RX-8 turbo. Horsley grabbed a bit of time with the ROTORMASTER RX-8 turbo a few months back & copied it. You already know the car will never make it into RX-8 SP form.
Apparently the "RX-8 MPS" is soon to be on sale here & it can't conflict with a turbo version from Mazda Australia. So this version RX-8 is purely a marketing excercise, with the Aussie RX-8 a whopping 60% more expensive than the same car in Japan, Mazda Australia need to keep the theme shining to avoid sales slowing to far.
Its a good thing for the whole image of the RX-8 though & I liked the Mazdaspeed nose on it. a big "Well done" to Mario Aguis from Mazda Austraila who sourced the Mazdaspeed parts for this car

Also lets hope that Mazda keep the price reasonable to stop it from becoming too expensive for it's target market which is why the RX7 never became a successful seller in it's last few years in Australia
