So we take it up the old pacific hwy giving it a bootfull and listening to the sweet 9000 rpm shift through the sequential box.
Sequential box? Are you guys getting a transmission that's unavailable everywhere else in the world, or is this bloke full of ****?

Dude, many people here still think that tiptronic/steptronic automatic gearbox as sequential gearbox. :D :D

True, but if it was a slushbox it wouldn't be changing at 9000rpm, now would it?

Methinks the guy's a ******.

The Rotary, design by Wankel, Driven by *******. Auto redline at 7500, and max out at 8000-8500.

The automatic has a lower redline and cutoff because Mazda couldn't find a torque converter that could take 9000+rpm. If he's shifting at 9000, he ain't using a sequential box.

On my view this guy is full of ****... I don't believe it...

- the sequential box
- no pictures
- you'd have to be an idiot to post that sort of thing if it were true

If it's true the only Mazda dealer I know of that you could go up the "Old Pacific Hwy" and back in "an hour" would be Hornsby Mazda.

Anybody dealing with them may want to ask...

Hmmm... sure am glad I got my car from Albury now... I live in Canberra and went to that dealer, asking for a Titanium w/Leather Pack... christ, I'm fuming at that and I didn't even get that car... going to get my car serviced at the other dealer in town for sure... (although aparently owned by the same people)

The EVIL-7 guy that was involved in that originally with his GF pinching the car has quite a reputation in Sydney I have heard. Just aswell I dont live there. By the sounds of it, he is quite a ******.

Lets hope he gets caught out for thrashing some poor souls car paid for with hard earned cash

Mmm... this reminds me of a similar story that became quite famous on a few US car message boards. It's different as it involves a Mustang that was brought into a service station for a service. The mechanic took it home, trashed it around by redlining it around the place, and then went to a well-known Mustang message board to post about it. Unfortunately for him, the owner of the car was also a member, and she recognised her own car from the posts. This led to a lawsuit, and the mechanic losing his job. It became hot topic amongst different message boards.

Of course, in this case we are talking about a demonstrator car, not a car owned by someone already. Demonstrator cars are well-known to be pushed to the limit on test drives anyway. Personally, I would never buy a demonstrator sports car - maybe a luxury car, but not a car that you know is going to be pushed by the driver.

Get over it!

When my car arrives, if it has more than 8kms on the clock it goes back to where it came from. Bad move for the ******** that doesnt check the odometer when they buy it.
