Wanted: The O ring on stock oil filler cap

the O ring on my oil filler cap (OEM) fell off when I unscrew the cap, and I can't find it.

Is anyone willing to give theirs (either the OEM filler cap with the O ring still attached of course or just the O ring)? I'm happy to pay a reasonable price if necessary. this is of course for those who had aftermarket oil filler cap on their car and have no use for the OEM one.

Call me cheapskate, but I find it hard to justify buying a filler cap when no one can see it

Iggy, get the o ring from mazda, or after market ones are only a few bucks! Same size as any Mazda or i think ford as well.

I paid about $15 for my rotor shaped one!

i highly doubt it costs $50.00 if the aluminum ones cost less than $20.00. if i had to guess how much it would be, i'd say it'll cost you less than $10.00.

Buy a new O-ring.

The part number is 034-10-252.

It will be cheap.

LOL I was looking at the mazdaspeed ones that's shaped as rotary, JPY 9200. That's what I've been basing my assumption off

Thanks for the part number Steve, I'll go ask how much it is.

you can buy a black non brand one from autozone for about $5. The seal fell off mine the other day too. Funny thing about the cheap $5 replacement that I picked up - it's a LOT easier to turn than the OEM one. No more stuck oil cap.

Oil cap is what you are after?

Why the O ring?

...

I have an oil cap if you want to come to have a look, I am not sure if there is an O ring for it.

I've got a Mazfix rotor shaped cap (didn't come with a turbo kit though, ).

Let me know if you want me to look for the OEM cap...

that's ok, I'll ask Mazda first how much the O ring cost, if it's ridiculous (spelling?) then I'll just go buy the $5 or the $25 rotary shaped ones

Thanks for the input guys!

MikeyR changed our engine oil today. I passed beer and made several unhelpful comments.

Couldn't get a handpump anywhere for love or money though, so the royal gearbox and diff purpling has been put on hold ftm.

And I even avoided breaking anything but true to Revolver form, Revolver junior managed to land his RC car in Mikey's pool...it didn't float . Hoping after a good dryout tonight I can get it going again.

That part number does not exist.

Should be 0324-10-252 which supersedes to 8871-10-252
and are about $6.oo.

ALL MAZDA PART NUMBERS ARE A 4 digit/number-by 2 digit by 3 to 6 digit/number.

Wink

I'm gob smacked. You spend $55-60k on a car and quibble over the price of a rubber o-ring.
