They're so dumb.

They could be making a tidy little profit on guys/gals who are prepared to pay a little markup to save the hassle of privately importing this stuff. The online parts sites must be laughing their asses off.

OK here goes, post poll.

Who here has imported what mazdaspeed parts, or given up on Mazdaspeed parts because of the cost or hassle of importing. I will be feeding this back to MA (if they dont see it themselves) so I dont care how small.

I am about to order a Mazdaspeed front tower brace.
I have previously (through Taka) ordered an Oil Filter
I have given up on the coilovers due to cost of importing.

The reason I bought Whiteline sways instead of the MS units was the relative cost. It obviously helped that the Whitelines had some good recommendations too.

I've toyed with the idea of ordering the MS shocks and springs but, as you know only too well Andrew, there are plenty of coilovers (let alone spearate shocks and springs) that can be imported for less. The MS suspension products are on the backburner while I explore cheaper and perhaps better alternatives.

I can also understand why people go for alternative or copy bodykits.

MazdaSpeed is only A spec. I wonder if they are ever going to get R spec stuff .

The quality is very high on the MazdaSpeed product and I yet see a better strut than MazdaSpeed, although it costs more.

I can find a better clutch than the MazdaSpeed A spec clutch though.

The brake pads are B spec, so it is a track spec rather than touring spec.

A spec - touring spec

B spec - track spec

R spec - fully sick race spec.

There are mainly R spec for FD RX-7s.

RX-8 only have A spec stuff. Brake pads are B spec though (more hard core)

They are trying to get aways with A, B, R spec now.... I think I should stop talking about it

Mazdaspeed parts have been a long term joke for Mazda Australia for many many years now. One particular manager who bears the same initials as a certain genocidal maniac form the **** party has refused to allow Mazdaspeed to flourish due to reasons that would make any worthy businessman **** himself laughing

Until he retires (soon hopefully) , Mazdaspeed will remain supressed & dificult to obtain.

Interesting. Can you be more specific as to what the problem is (with the parts, not the manager )? If you can't share it publicly, please PM me.

WEIRD !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When I was working for Mazda NZ. We sold shitloads of MS parts..... even MS parts for the RX-8 Mazda 2,3 and 6.

With no problems at all.

What I would do with your dealers is get the part numbers yourselves and just tell them to order these parts. they come with dumbo instruction to fit them so there should be no problems !!!!!!!!

All were covered under standard mazda Warranty too ???

Oh yeah part numbers are found at www.mazda.co.jp/mazdaspeed/

Oh yeah once again A big hello to everyone on the RX8club !!!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been really busy with the D1 program so haven't had time to be here

Also I think a good friend of mine is now the ozzie product manager so I can probabaly get some answers if need be ???

Maestro, good to hear from you. Any feedback from Mazda would be appreciated by me, however from the lack of response to my question, its apparent;y not as big an issue as I thought.

Cheers
