I hate the installation flash --- never write an annoying music to the flash PLEASE...

Anyway, I think it is cool - is it compatible to our Bose system though.
I don't think I have seen it in Aus.

We only have Berkin's stuff for iPod. I am thinking of a miniiPod
Although recently I have seen a U2 Limited edition .... No I am not a U2 fan but it is a black and red colour 20G iPod

icelink

thanks ezzy for the link. it is very good

it is just that the icelink allow me to still use the control on the steering wheel to control. and it is just a plug without any welding

we should get someone to do a groupbuy for these....

sound like a great idea.. who has an iPod here... I suspect Timbo does (or someone in Canberra with a red car). He seems to have the FM transmitter already.

I have an iPod and the FM Transmitter, but if installation is easy enough I'd much prefer this to the FM Transmitter.

Yep, I have the FM transmitter which works... ok... I'd be interested in this if I saw the RX-8 among the vehicles it's designed to work with ... or did I miss something on the Dension site

I've seen the DIY one before. When it comes to electronic work like that, I have 10 thumbs -- I'd rather help Taka cut up stiffs

The RX-8 is listed, it's just hard to find. I think you have to go through the ordering links and it asks what manufacturer and lists the iceLink model required for which cars. The RX-8 is listed along with the 2002-2004 MX-5.

Ah yes, I found it. Well hidden. But methinks it's all meant for those with the Bose head unit, not us poor pov packers!

Unhappy

Ok, have now researched this (for example, see this link), which looks pretty interesting as a way of plugging the iPod into the stereo, switching it as an input device using the CD/Aux switch, then controlling tracks in playlists via the steering wheel controls... I'd probably even shell out to buy in from the Us.... but there's a catch. Need a head unit with firmware upgraded to at least 9.55 and mine is 9.53. The bigger question therefore is how to get a firmware upgrade in Australia
