Wildcard about?
Anyone heard from Wildcard recently?
I understood he was being posted to the NT. Was looking forward to tales of unbridled speed and excitement in his HYMEE ENHANCED (it deserves capitals since we're talkin' more than a grill and pipes here) roadgoing rocket.
Or have you had your test pilot locked in the lab Hymee?

OK here is the scoop...
The test pilot was locked in the lab before he left. Locked in the lab, as Grandad (Phil), after much procrastination and soul searching, made a tough decision at about midnight on New Years Day...
The prelude is that Grandad flew to Newcastle specially to "service" the Silver Rocket before a pre-Christmas trip to Brisbane, en-route to NT. Then he drove up with Wildcard, and did lots of Motec data gathering and tuning. Even managed to get fuel consupmtion down to a figure on par with an NA '8.
The really tough decision was to take the S/C off the silver rocket for it's trip to the NT. Lots of reasons, but mainly due to the high ambient air temps, and the lack of quality fuel, as 95 RON was the only thing readily available, and 98 is impossible to get at most places.
Another reason is that the trip to the NT was to involve sustained high speed driving. Wildcards expericiences on his trip in his N/A RX-8 with the stock computer has reinforced Grandad's decision - anything over 150km/h, and the RX-8 overheats (boils!)
Wildcard did lots of valuable logging with his sCANalyser of the trip.
More info soon. Got to run.
Cheers,
Hymee.

Hey, speaking of pilots, don't normally watch Today Tonight (tabloid crap) but it happened to be on tonight when a schlocky item about some female newslet getting a free ride in a fighter jet was airing.
And who should be the (un)lucky one playing chauffeur - none other than our very own Triple G, who many of you would have met at the Nats last October. He was described as the best of the best!
Looks like it's your shout at the pub Dan , or is that just for cops .
And did she put...no I'm sure gentlemen never tell.

And I'm taking no bets on which movie they aired footage from to fill up the non-story.
"I feel the need. The need...for speed!"
