I am contacting a professional photographer there for the afternoon for about 5 hours. No concrete quote from him yet but it will be about $30-45 each for say 20 cars.

He does great job for my 8, as seen in my website.
www.step-hen.com/events.htm

He will give us a full size CD to take home. And it will print to A2 size (8 MP pics).

What do you think... it is certainly cheaper than what he is doing for us @ Sandown... just because that day is my BIRTHDAY ..

Hehe.

Let me know what you guys think

Sorry guys, wasnt really thinking much the otehr day. 20 cars will in my eyes will be a little hard to co-ordinate. I was thinking more 16. This way we can go in 2 groups of 8.

We have 13 people from RX8Club (.com and .au) and 9 from ozmazdaclub, so could easily make either 16 or 20. Cost for 16 is $235 and cost for 20 is $187.50.

Again, sorry for the pissing around but I really would prefer 16 but will only do it if everyone is happy.

Absolutely, only do whatever you are comfortable with Andrew.

There is always next time and when we have experience we can make it bigger or smaller.

Agreed.

Back to my question:
I have the quote from Peter Kotsa and it is $37.5 each for 16 people. Sounds alright? He is doing 5 hours of work and it is a bargin thinking that your wedding is similar in time frame and he charges $3000 for them.

I think it is a steal and he does it out of love... what would you say?

OK... I am going to use my power as a main Victorian cruise/gathering organiser to everything here so far, I am going to make a list of people who has interest across 3 forum club site and list them ok?

Good to have Peter there. He takes excellent photos, and $37.5 each is a bargain.
Thanks Taka.

I have spoken to Andrew who is in the sunshine state (lucky him)...

We will get the cost finalised later but it includes something like this

1. Track+ambulance and Photographers cost ~ $271.

2. ASSA license+timing ~$60. Timing alone can be arranged since I know some has CAMS.

Note: I overstimate the price... just in case.

3. Accomodation. I am on to it this week to suggest a few Motels. It is highly optional but of course it is more fun staying together.

Cheers
Taka

Taka, the best motel in Benalla is the Top of the town motel. They are good friends of mine (Janet & Ross )and I stay there often when im racing at Winton. Ross actually bought my old RX-7 racecar from me Their number is 57624866. Make sure you tell them I recommended them

The other good motel is the Glider City Motel.

I have tried the others and these two are the best.

7. MiRX*8
8. Flameboy - EXE - im in no matter what

16. awhar3 (ozmazdaclub)

Well after discussion of Andrew and myself, it is safer for us to keep in this number. However, in viewing of the fairness of the internet spirit (is there such a thing ) we will let the rest of the "previously interested" group - as listed ie. rxate and the remain of listed EXE boys to join.

Sorry we cannot accom more .... hereby I apologise and hopefully the next one we have more Santa the little helpera (ie Ground staffa) and we will make it bigger - hopefully.

Cheers,
Taka

PS. People are welcome to sit in the paddock and cheers for me
PPS. the cost issues will become apparent when Mr auzoom comes back.

Thank you Andrew and Taka for organising the event. Hopefully, we can make it bigger next time to accomodate more people. AND... hopefully we can organise to have more track days in the year(s) to come. I believe that if we want to experience our pride and joy close to or up to the limit, the best place for it is in a safe and controlled environment.

Peter Kosta photography service is also a great idea. I am for it!

Thanks!

I have hired Peter Kotsa.

OK it is the final list then: 20 cars is an excellent number. More than that may be too much.

Now the organisation begins.... I will contact the accomodation this week and seek availability. It is a low season but Andrew said CWG is on in Melbourne - but Benella is country miles away from the action... . Oh well, there are plenty of Motels in Benella and lets not panic.

For people who wish to have a drive up Sunday... just for a sake of a cruise and dinner... I will have something planned as well.

For people who is thinking of getting to the track on the day. Just beware you prob have to be at Donnybrooke by 630 am to get to Winton on time. That is except Glenn who can sleep in and have a breakfast before coming from Ballarat

220km from Melbourne CBD. Route planner (http://www.nowwhereroute.com/tourism...r/Default.aspx) said 3 hours. But you expect 2 hours from the start of Hume.

I really advise not have late night before the track day. It is not a scroll in the park. It is as physical as being in the gym all day. If you planned to have a late night drive, you prob have done yourself if not your car by the lunch time... just a piece of advice from a crazy man who does around the bay bicycle ride every year.
