Bum dyno registers both an increase in kw and torque with my exhaust.......... unconfirmed since the calibration may be out........

Really hard to tell if mine is actually making the car faster, but the exhaust note certainly seems to make it more fun to drive.

If all you care about is speed then I would say save your money, but if you enjoy the whole experience of driving then a good exhaust on the 8 just makes it better.

I love that rotary exhaust note!

done abit of driving in 8A8Y 8 yesterday with the hymee exhaust.... AFAIK its a cat back system, and its very quiet at idel and sounds great at every rpm range. cant tell if there's any performance gain (butt dyno's on RDO :D ), cos it was f*#ken hot yesterday . its def. more fun to drive with great exhaust sound.

if sound is your thing and on a budget..... i'd suggest the hymee exhaust system.... and the other good thing is that it is 100% australian made

On the badget it is Hymee, nothing else. $400 for a quality hand made product? DO you have to think more? Unless you are true to JDM products.

There is no magic exhaust... all JDM aftermarket exhaust claims ~7kW at the crank.

10ps at flywheel is the best I have seen (R Magic). Anything more than that is a lie. People who know rotary well have taken an RX-8 apart that found the most restriction of the exhaust gas is right at the engine. So you can argue even a manifold is money down the drain.

but 20ps from the whole exhaust system does not worth $3000 . But I think I will end up doing it for the eventual forced induction. I think that is the main reason that I will keep the RX-8 --- 220+kW RX-8 will kick big ***, even the new 206kW Boxster S.

It is $450 for mild steel Hymee and $750 for stainless Hymee right?

**EDIT** = I might have acidentally started the collapse of Hymee empire... :p

Forget about the prices --- please check with Hymee for the current exhange rate :p

After market exhausts don't just sound better, but they also look better too. It makes the stock exhaust tips look silly by comparison.

You'll have to look elsewhere for performance gains unfortunately.

Go Hymeethebananabendingbastard - the only way to go!

Kimba, I'm coming to Sydney early next week and would love to see a webasto sunroof: any chance of it? also, where is their factory? I'll be floating around Mon and Tues.

You show me your roof, I'll show you Hymee's tips.

The stock tips are just the tip of the problem!

The real visual issue is that rusty 44 gallon drum hanging out the rear end of your car. Looks as hot as a 14 month old kid with a full Snuggies....

And, an added BIG benefit with the Hymee exhaust is that the boot is a whole lot cooler

No it's not, in my opinion and experience. I got mine just to tone down what I felt was a high pitch to a nice low soft roar.

No mate, it's all about the noise and looks. Check this out: http://www.racingbeat.com/resultset....rtNumber=16397

They claim there's not much power to be gained in exhaust system mods. I sure do love the sound, though :D.
