Zaino report

As Molly Meldrum would say "Do yourself a favour..."

Really good stuff- I bought the kit from www.eclipsedetailing.com.au
*Zaino show car kit $225
*Towel set $45

Nearly $300 dollars on polish maybe a bit of an initial outlay, but read on…

Basically did the following:
1. Wash the car with dawn dishwashing detergent
2. Used the Z-18 claybar over the car
3. Washed the car with Z-7 car wash
4. Dried car
5. Applied Z-5 polish (With ZFX), then buff off
6. Applied Z-6 detailing spray
7. Applied Z-2 polish (With ZFX), then buff off
8. Applied Z-6 detailing spray
9. Applied Z-5 polish (With ZFX), then buff off
10. Applied Z-6 detailing spray
11. Applied Z-2 polish (With ZFX), then buff off
12. Applied Z-6 detailing spray

Probably took me 11hrs, including drying time. Initial coat took majority of time- Once familiar, it’s a breeze. I let the polish dry between 45-90mins.

It seems like overkill (Time and money), but the results are nothing short of spectacular. The paint is like glass and a massive improvement over how it came from the factory. The claybar in itself makes the biggest difference.

It’s amazing how little polish you need to complete the car once- Instructions mention 1 ounce (20-25ml) but I found that I always had some left over. Considering that the Z-2 polish is 200ml and the Z-5 is 300 ml, guaranteed to polish the car around 25 times! Even with the Z-6 detailing spray, Greg (Eclipse Detailing) advised that mixing in 50/50 with distilled water will do the trick- So on a cost-per-coat, it really is good value.

Buy the towels! I thought sinking nearly $50 on towels was overkill, but they do a brilliant job and I will also buy a few more- especially with the Z-6 detailer as it pays to have a spare dry towel to completely buff the car dry.

It may sound like I’m working for Zaino, but I cannot fault the product so far. Real test will be over next few months to see how well the polish holds up. If anyone has any horror stories regarding, these products, I'd love to hear.

To tell you the truth, it was dark and I only saw the rear seat so took a punt on the duco colour

To quote Seinfeld:

"Not that there's anything wrong with that..."

Yeah, it took a while, but did it over a few days, remembering 4 or so hrs accounted for drying time. The first/second coats took the longest as I was still working out the product. The 4th coat only took 25mins to apply, 25 to buff off...The results speak for themselves and it's not something you do each week so I don't mind doing it once in a blue moon.
