ZOOMBY'S Nsw RX8 Cruise Kiama 21/6/08 (Piks/Piks link and review pg 3)

Hello RX8Club Members ,

I am very happy to announce, the next NSW Rx8 cruise will be on the 21/6/08 . Following a very successful cruise I recently organised back in April this year thru to Palm Beach (you can view pictures of this great day here https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=141788). And now on with the show hehe, part two of the RX8 Cruises 2008, here we go :ysuper: ....

I organised a similar cruise a couple years back, with the only difference that the end destination will be Kiama and not Wollongong(as we went there not that long ago, on Revolvers cruise)...Like all other cruises I organise, I will be sending PM's in the next coming days/coming week, to all NSW members and Canberrians, to come along for the ride and have a great day. As the cruise will be a little closer for our Canberrian counterparts, to attend also ...

This will be a cruise not to be missed, as it will be an awsum day for both u and your RX8 ....Woronora Dam is a great place to start the day, not only is the drive great but the scenary is also excellent . Woronora Dam will be a great place for us to take some photo's/check out mods and have a mini pitstop... There are also a number of different areas at this location, that would accomodate our club and cars adequately and also for our photoshoots too.

Upon Departure from Woronora Dam, we would then cruise down the Princes Highway thru to Kiama. This will insure, the RX8s stay together pretty much the whole way down to Kiama, and give other commuters quite a site, as we always do hehe ...

We will then arrive at Kiama's famous attraction the Blowhole, where we will relax and have some refreshments along with lunch and as always a freindly chat, b4 returning to our home's Sydney/Canberra etc. Food and drinks would need to be purchased pre-hand, which im sure we can arrange prior to this event. Or alternatively, there is a fish n chip shop a rock throw away(yes i like my fish n chips lol) too...Photo's will also be taken throughout the day which I will post, but please bring your cameras and video camera's along too, because theres never enough photo's taken :ysuper: ....Also as per past cruises I will once again try an obtain our resident photgraphers attendances too, and fingers cross they can make this one, but dont 4get the cameras just in case...

NSW RX8 CRUISE 21/6/08

Meet-up Point
- Caltex Servo Princes Highway,Heathcote 10:45am(sharp), for meet and greet

Departure from Meet-up point(Caltex Servo opposite the Shell servo)
- Depart @11:15am to allow time for any1 thats a tad late

Arrival @1st Destination (Woronora Dam)
- Approx. @11:40am

Depart @1st Destination Point(Woronora Dam)
- Approx. @12:10pm

Arrive @Final Destination Kiama (Blowhole carpark)
- Approx. @1:10pm

Departure from Kiama
- Head back to Sydney in the RX8 convoy before dark.

DIRECTIONS
- Upon exit of the Heathcote Catlex(located same side as heathcote train station, just past the station), we will travel along Princes Highway.

- Just passing Waterfall train station, we will take the turn off to the right onto the Old Princes Highway. So you will need to be in your right lane, when passing Waterfall station, otherwise you will miss the turnoff. Turnoff is approx about 500m on the right, passed Waterfall station.

- We will follow the Old princes highway and the Woronora Dam signs, up to the entrance of the Dam(on right side too). Carparks are at the very end of this street, so follow it till the end.

- Upon exit out of the W-Dam, we will take a right and follow the Old Princes Highway until the 1st round about. Which we will then turn right, and get back onto the Southern Highway.

- We will follow this road(Southern Highway) all the way to Kiama, and plz note it changes name a few times, but its the same road all the way down (from Southern Highway to Mt Ousley Rd to Southern Highway to Princes Highway to Kiama Bypass).

- We will then take the Kiama turnoff, and follow it to the Kiama Blowhole carpark, where there is a fish and chip shop rite next to the carpark.

Petrol: 1/2 - 3/4 tank will get you thru the day, so please prepare accordingly(hint were meeting at a Petrol Station, unfortunately no group discounts lol).

There are also threads on both Websites, RX8.com forum about this cruise. And my phone number will also be available to those that request it, if you think you mite need to contact me on the day. I will also try and get a map up closer to the date, for all to use or those that request it...

Anyway its going to be a an Awsum day, with plenty of fun for you /your car / and your family so make sure you are there. For the Guys n Girls travelling from Canberra or wollongong for this cruise, U have a few options. U can meet us from the start or u can meet up with us at Woronora Dam or @kiama, choice is yours. The main thing is being there for cruise at some point, obviously from the start would be fantastic but I also understand why it would not be feasible hence why i have given u a few more options....

Please add you name to this thread if you will be attending, so that I can update attendees accordingly.

Hope to see you all there, and bring on the RX8 Cruises for 2008 .

thats a good idea Nick , and your welcome to run with it.... Only issues i see with it, is if there is enough demand out there for those coming...And also the cost involved, as I recently enquired about getting a sticker made up, and it was going to cost me around $50.00 if I produced the artwork(and thats for 1 sticker )... But If you know someone in the industry, that will reduce the cost for sure, let me know too hehe...

$50 per sticker, damn i was thinkin more like $10 max! haha. I figured something pretty simple and just text - I'll message a few people that make up stickers and check out what they can do.

Yeah stickers can be a lil pricey , well the one i wanted anyway lol.... But yeah could be a good idea, if you can reduce the costs, and enough people want them...Keep up the good work, and let us know how u go as it should be cheaper than $50.00 im sure, cos mine had a little artwork to it(rotary symbol of course )...

Attendees list has also been updated, and i should be sending thru PM's to other members over the next few days... In the mean time keep adding your names to the thread, if you will be attending this NSW RX8 Cruise .

Cheers ,
Waldo - ZOOMBY - ZZOOM

OK I got a quote for stickers:

700mm x 400mm - White colour and something like "RX-8 Cruise to Kiama 2008"
(Just as an example) - about $15 a sticker.

How does that sound?

Nick

I know someone who can make them up who's based in Canberra - its just the interest factor in getting them made, costs and what to have written etc.

Any ideas on what to get written?!

Miss Trish - why not just come to the meetup for a few mins rather than the cruise?

How about:

"Stickers make my car go faster"

"Stickers - because scratches happen, okay!"

"Stickaboi"

"I love the smell of adhesive in the morning!"

"I'm factory backed"

"Always room for another race sponsor"

"My other car is a Ferrari"

"If this RX8 is rockin'...let me out"

Good Work Nick , id be up for it... Id like to think, everyone would be up for it. Although a little tongue and cheek from Dave , suggests what i suspected previously, that maybe not all members would like it...So up to you mate...

Maybe we should talk about it on this cruise, and plan it for the next one....Or if there is enough demand in the lead up to this cruise, it mite turn into a goah(time n posts will tell)...

Just jokes boys - don't take it too seriously. I'm not a big sticker fan myself (although I do have a small one in each corner of the rear screen - which is about my limit) but I know plenty of others like them, so if that floats your boat, go for it.
