Good morning all:

This is your cub reporter reporting for the NAIAS here in Detroit. As you all know, Tuesday is the day we are all waiting for. The RX-8 will be launched in the Cobo Arena between 7:30 & 8:30 AM CST. Let me remind you that if you log onto www.naias.com, you will be able to view the launch live so set your alarm clocks.

The plan is that I will be calling information from the launch directly to Sputnick so that it can be posted first. The pictures that I will be taken will be posted not later than Tuesday evening (depending on download access) but I will try to get them to you earlier.

In the mean time, I will try to highlight any other interesting information each day. This morning at 10:45, the Car & Truck of the Year Awards will take place. Also, amongst the 60 new cars to be launched at the show (a record for the show), Ford, Chrysler, Nissan, Audi, Lamborghini, GM, Lexus, Acura, Hyundai and Suzuki all plan to show us something new today.

-No RX8 information will be released until Monday (I wouldn't expect too much even then).
