$3,500 MS extras Promotion

New to the forum and I just got my new 2007 RX-8 little over a week ago. Along with haggling the dealer down to a good price they threw in the free $3,500 Performance Package with the sale. The promotion is going on right now until October 2, 2007.

if anyone wanted to know what it includes here is the list:

4 MazdaSpeed Alloy Rims
1 MazdaSpeed Cold air intake
1 Rear floating spoiler
Front and Rear Rotary Crest

This is a pretty awesome deal and all of the things listed above will be installed for free by the dealer. They will even take the tires from the stock rims and put them on the new mazdaspeed ones (balanced and mounted)!

Also, anyone who is looking to lease the car will also get this deal and as a bonus you get to keep all of the extras at the end of your term, no need to return them with your car - by the time the lease expires these will be outdated, but either way the stuff is yours!

Just a little incentive if you are in the market for a new RX-8, I guess.

Ya we've had a thread about this. It is called the Performance Package. Did you get your stuff right away? I bought my 07 end of January and was told I'd have to wait until April for the order to come in.

It applies to 06s too. So what's the OTD price for the 07?

I got it from Toronto Mazda (Younge and Steeles), the price out the door was $37,300. They are trying very hard to sell these cars and if you go in and are serious, you can work the sales people down very low. The sticker price for this car with the features I got is approx. $45,000 + with taxes and fees. You can probably pull off anywhere between $35,000 to $40,000 if you negotiated hard enough and you finance through Mazda.

Yea I heard about that as well. I asked the sales guy when he mentioned the performance package upgrade and he said that it would be fine as long as they installed the parts. Although, sales people are known to tell you anything if it will get them a sale. I'll make sure to ask the service people when I actually go in in April to get the stuff installed. They don't have the packages in until April.

I already bought my 8 last year and I want to add CAI, really I hear the stock air intake is good enough and all CAI really does is just add an agressive sound when your revving no real HP gain with CAI

Yep, you are quite correct Smokin_LaLa, you would get a CAI in this car purely for sound difference only. If you've taken a look at the stock airbox, its more than adequate to feed air to our tiny engines.

This upgrade would be to get the sound of the engine a little lower and more growly. Some people don't like the higher pitched whine that the 8 makes, although personally, I love it almost like an F1 whine.

i was expecting the MS wheels for the RX-8, these are offered for the mazda6, i guess no one buys these wheels so they throw it as a package on the 8.. and... i guess you dont get the stock wheels either. if you calculate by MSRP, the stock wheels arent that much cheaper than these MS wheels.

Did I read right? 37,300 OTD... including PDI/freight and taxes? That means your 07 is 32k financed? whoa!

yep, 37,300 is what the final price on the bill says.

in terms of keeping the original wheels you get those as well. so really you have two sets of rims (ie. 8 wheels).

I didn't get the stuff installed right away, the dealer doesnt' have the packages in yet. I have to go back in april to have all the stuff installed.

GT model with pwr moonroof. It has all of the options except for the Nav, couldn't justify paying the extra $3000 for the navigation option.

Thanks for the info. $37300 OTD for a GT is a good price! Actually lower than I thought possible... I will use this information wisely... as I have made the first step in getting an 8 today by requesting a quote on the RX-8 through the leasing company that our company uses. Fingers crossed.

Oh, I do have a question. When the performance accessories are available, can you ask the dealer not to install it (CAI that I am referring to), but instead give the parts to you... because I plan to autocross the 8, and CAI is not allowed in stock class...

You can install or not install whatever parts you like. They are yours to keep, so if you didn't want the wheels or the CAI you could choose not to install them. The dealer will ask what your preferences are.

Can you scan your invoice and post it here?? I really want to just to say to them.. look someone got it here for this price. I want the same thing, and that is that. If they say no, then I walk away... if they say yes, I sign the papers.

you think that'll work? 5 minute deal.

Cheers,
Andrew

I echo that scanned invoice too! You can block out the names and stuff.
37k for an 07 is crazy. Is that a demo car? I know a dealership wanted to sell me their 07 demo - dark blue one. Is that financed or cash?

I can post you guys the invoice next week. If you take a look at my location you notice that it says Toronto/Ottawa, well my family lives in Toronto but I goto school in ottawa. since i'm not very organized with my **** the invoice and all of the car papers are at home in Toronto, I will be going home next weekend and I can post it up then, I would ask my parents to scan it and email it to me, but they are very computer illeterate so that is out of the quesiton. But for sure I can post an invoice scan when I get home.

Oh and the car is not a demo, It had 17 KM on it when I picked it up. And I paid cash and got a graduate discount (even though I haven't technically graduated from university yet.)

Oh, so it's a cash price... do you think they'll do it for a finance price? I mean technically they make more money on interest through financing.

ahhh cash. yeah that sounds about right. cash price is around 32k++ here which is in line then. not sure what's the graduate discount is like. I'm afraid financing may not be as cheap.

Hey guys, I'm looking for a little clarification on this promotion.

First off, last Tuesday I bought a leftover '06 RX-8! Yay. Anyway, dealer mentions this promotional offer. He said that in order to get the Mazdaspeed wheels, they have to exchange my factory ones for them. Is this BS?

So, I declined the wheels (I think originals are much nicer) and then he proceeded to say that the package is an all-or-nothing deal. Either I give them my factory wheels and take the package, or if I want to keep my stock wheels I can't get the rest of the promotion.

Any clarification or help? I've been trying to get through to Mazda Canada but have not had any luck yet; not surprising for a Friday

Thanks for any help.

You should be able to keep all your existing parts. As that is not the definition of free. Your dealer is playing you for a fool.

You should be at your discretion opt to receive all those parts separately (and not install them) and sell them if you like.
