In BC, if the MS package is not really "free". U'd have to give up like $3000 of discount for it. It's bizarre.

I suspected the exact same thing! I have to wait until Monday morning to speak with someone at Mazda Canada, hopefully they will clear this up.

$3500 and you don't get to keep the stock rims sounds like a bit of a rip off. The package isn't worth it, otherwise.

Hey here is a lease form from one of my friend's rx8. he just recenty leased an 8 as well and this is his documentation. I have yet to go home so therefore I don't have my own, but this will show you how you can get the price down quite low.
It shows a pretax price of 31,399 plus the extended care of 550. Then you add 14% tax, freight, gas tax, air tax, filing fees, registration and also other warranties as you see fit. Total comes up to 36-37 thousand. let me know if there are any questions.

This is great you you guys but it sucks to know since I bought my 04 GT only this past Summer for ~ 28K tax in. Even considering my car was originally bought in Sept. 04 and less then 2 yrs when I got it, it still sucks to trade 2 yrs for less than 10K. ......and I thought I did well when I'd compared my 27K to 45K new
Great deal for new 8 owners.....

So, to further add to the discussion re: accessory package, I have called Mazda Canada this morning and man, where do they find their employees? I've never spoken to someone representing a company that knew nothing about what they were representing. Every question I asked I was put on hold for 5-7 minutes, so she could ask someone for an answer. Basically, her answer was: We only know what the package is, not any details. Call your service manager.

So, I called three Mazda dealers in SW Ontario, and they have all said that to obtain the Mazdaspeed wheels from the package you must forfeit your factory wheels. Obsurd! Furthermore, each one has a different answer regarding obtaining the remainder of the package if I do not want the wheels.

Could I please get anyone's input about all this, your experiences, or if you know a salesman or are one, can you please answer this? Who do I call to get a concrete answer?

Update: Well, I got a mixed bag here, I called five dealerships in SW Ontario, and:

Westowne Mazda (Toronto)
Parkway Mazda (Waterloo)
Dubois Mazda (Woodstock)

All say that the package is on top of the car, no questions asked, no rim trading. Then:

Downtown Mazda (Toronto)
Mazda of Toronto (duh)

Both say that when the package arrives you must give the dealership your factory wheels to obtain the MS ones. On top of that, if you choose not to get the wheels, you can't have the rest of the package because it's a "all-or-nothing" deal. Mazda of Toronto even went on to say that you have to get the pacakge when you buy the car, and keeping your factory wheels is not an option

So, I called my local dealer and mentioned that "these three dealerships" are offering the package with no strings attached and that I want the same thing. He asks his manager, calls back 3 minutes later and says, whatever you want.

So, I hope this helps anyone else out there having difficulties with this package. Do not let them take your factory wheels!

hey guys,

I regards to the MS speed package. I bought my car from Mazda Toronto, I was told before signing the papers and paying for the car that I had the choice of what parts to install from the package and what parts I could take without having installed. The sales guy told me that when I bring my car back in april they will swap tires, balance and install the mazda speed rims and give me the stock ones to use for winter or whatever I wanted. If you leased the car I was told that you get both sets of rims. Although when the lease expires you MUST RETURN the stock ones, but the mazda speed ones are yours to keep. Also the rotary accents and cold air intake and spoiler work the same way. If when the parts come in you decide you don't want any of them on your car, they will give you the parts and you can do what you want with them. (ie. sell them, put them up in your bedroom or throw them off a cliff). These promotion parts are FREE to YOU on TOP of the stock car. NO STRINGS ATTACHED.

If I find out otherwise come april, there is certainly going to be a massacre in that dealership!! So I hope, for their sake, the keep to their word!

Since the SPORTS PACKAGE is available to the customer for no extra charge, and since the parts which make up the Package do not cost the dealer extra money you should be able to negotiate any deal you want, even taking home the parts in a bag(since the dealer will not have to pay a technician to install them!
You should also be aware that there are only a limited number of these packages available,in fact they had to be ordered by 8February07.So if a dealer has more RX8s than ordered Packages---when they are gone they are gone.

I just signed the deal for left over 06 GS. I'm pretty excited, can't wait to get my hands on her.
With regards to the performance package, the dealership's current incentives on 06s involve a discount ($3000) called "stackable cash" that they deduct from the cost of the car. The dealer told me that if I wanted the MS package $1850 would come out of the stackable cash because the package doesn't apply to 06s the same way it does to 07s. Has anyone else encountered this?
Also, what do you think is a good going rate for a brand new 06 out the door?
Thanks

That's pure bullshit! They just want to tap into your $3000 for more profit. The Performance package is F-R-E-E. Print the ad, and take it to the dealer.

Purchase or lease a new 2006 or 2007 RX-8 between Jan 22/07 and October 2/07 and receive the RX-8 performance package at no additional charge.
If you're paying cash (or have your own financing) there is also another $3000 rebate on '06's. Just want to make sure you know!

Also have a look at my posts in this thread detailing another problem I've had with trying to get this package. I tried documenting everything that happened and what I did to help anyone else who might run into this. Don't be fooled!

I got the same response too when shopping for an 06. Lame duck. Mazda promo didn't state that.

Amkorp, that's a good deal you have... $37,300 OTD price (incl. taxes) for an 07 GT w/moonroof... so far the best price is around $41,000 OTD here in Calgary for a comparable car.... Anyone in Calgary bought an 07 recently? and what prices were you able to get? scan of invoices are always welcomed.
