As long as I get parked beside people who won't ding my ride, I'll be happy!

Well you are welcome to get more door dings that day. I am not prepared to do so. I would love to group Rx8 together at least and I think its doable - at least for helpers. who will arrive early and leave late.

Since Dyson have the race cars in, probably the star mazda one will be in too. I would like to have the Rx8 close to the star mazda side if possible...

Whos our DJ Al? Jay?

P.S: I dont need pipe to be high. I am born high lolz

I'm sure things will turn out great either or.....too bad I won't be able to come out.

Have fun everyone...take lots of pics...

Yeah, I understand we are all big Mazda Family here, just friendly suggestion to u guys. Cause on the May 2009 Spring Meeting for the Rx-7 Club, the group is huge and messy, like all the FB, FC, FD and Rx-8 all scattered around the parking lot. Since car magazine and media will come do coverage or sth, it's nice to have the same type of car to park together, that's what I suggest. The May 2009 meeting, Theif, Footman and a few Rx-8 fellows went as well, and they felt the same way as well, awesome meeting, but kind of messy....... so yeah, just friendly suggestions!

im with chris. We are a mazda family. if the rx8s dominate pretty bad, then other cars will feel left out and leave early. if we are more random and scattered it forces people to all talk regardless of model and have a much better time. as for the picture thing, pictures taken at car shows/meets always look crappy anyways. i could see if there was some nice scenary around or something....but there are always people walking into frame....messy backgrounds....its not an ideal time to be taking pics of cars so pulling your hair out trying to organize everyone to stick together isnt worth it.

Like someone said before, people will be coming and going as they please accept for those helping out with setup and whatnot. Just do your best to park beside the same cars if you like, but its just not gonna happen for the whole lot. I mean, without knowing how many from each club will show up, you cant designate the appropriate space for each of them. you could run into having a big space for rx8s and few show up. or a big spot for rx7s and twice as many show and it all goes to hell anyways. thats my take on the whole thing anyways.

Oh.. dude... trust me... if the place was big enough that would be ideal... the only problem is Scarb Mazda isn't the biggest of places... and when you have the trailers there and what not it just because unmanagable to direct everyone in and out and have spots reserved like I mentioned before.

But honestly... for the media... I think it would be sick to have the the full lineup of mazda cars in a shot together rather than just all the same car. We did that at mosport this past may... worked out alright.. but.. was a pain to keep everyone together... and someone complained about not getting a prime spot (even though they came late etc and took it as a slight against their vechile)... plus that event's parking was even easier to do because there was more space as well! By having it mixed you elliminate that issue all together.

The solution? Trying to herd sheep. Have everyone roll in together.

Anywhoo... I'm optin' out of all this... have fun with the rest of the plann'

Gusy, why do things have to be so complicated???
The day is about celebrating the people who make Mazda what they are. Why do things have to be so segregated???
Let the people who run the show that day do what they have to do.
Just don't expect people to be grouped by type of car all the time. Because if the meeting at Sherway Gardens indicate anything, there are going to be a ton of FD's showing up as well as RX-8's. And as people have mentioned, Scarboro Mazda's lot isn't the biggest of places.
Let the people park where you want to put them. Meaning, first come, first serve. Just don't expect people to park mm's from each other. Gotta leave enough room for the doors to swing open. And enough room that we won't be dinging each other if someone is careless to just fling the door open.

This being said, I'm hoping I'll be arriving with the whole crew. This way I know my car will be safe.

nothing against 3 or 6 owners specifically... but i'm sure most of you would agree with me that if given any random owner... you'd rather have an 8 or 7 parked next to you

i guess its just the fact that a person who owns an 8 or 7 owns that car cause he/she really gives a ****... i'm sure a lot of 3/6 owners also care alot... but the chance that you get someone that really just doesn't give a **** is just higher

that plus scarboro mazda really isnt that big of a place just means less space between cars

if theres predesignated zones for the type of car it wouldn't really cause that much of a hassle since people would park in the right place to begin with

its only when you have to move cars around like at mosport that it starts sucking

The floor plan was just a general idea, we can definitely achieve it by diverting cars to different area based on model. eg rx8 to the left, rx7 to the right and fill up from the other end. Moreover, a proper registration program should be established next year definitely if this goes well (a la 7 stock in US with bookings of hotels, etc etc)

Greg, this event is celebration of Mazdas in Motorsports - and rotary engined cars has been the soul of Mazda in motorsports (well except the ALMS ones due to asshat in those racing regulation bodies killing rotaries) - Rx7, Rx8, and anything rotary powered should definitely be close to all the racing cars. We have MotM already for all sorts of Mazdas; on Sunday, the media will definitely be more interested in the racing cars than normal sedans.

Foxy, thanks for your offer of help. I will confirm with Al tomorrow on the specific roles that we see required.

Your role is to bend over so I can.... Seriously though, dude I think you need to relax a little. It's great you're taking it so serious but I'd hate to see everything get wrapped up in red tape. All I know from talking to Al is that I'm gonna show up at 7AM on Sunday to help with stuff.

you all are worrying way to much about this. the fact is, the people that are coming out to this, whether they be driving a stock mazda three or a completely modded and amazing rx8. they are a car person regardless. they arent going to be dinging doors all over the place. just chill out. come out and have fun.

also, thinking that our cars are more important will create some borders for the 3s, 6s, and proteges and what not. and without them, if the turnout is too small we likely cant do this next year. i know that the rx7 @sherway gardens meet was huge seemingly, but that was actually only like 40 cars. no where near the 100+ i would like to see out. there are some really sick 3s and 6s out there. the fact is, mazdas name is synonymus with racing. not the rotary engine on its own. Hell, they never even produced a mazdaspeed rx7 or rx8, but theres a mazdaspeed protege, mazdaspeed miata, mazdaspeed3, and mazdaspeed6.

I cant wait for sunday. its gonna be so awesome.

Thank you so much Al for setting this all up and everyone else that is taking part in it as well.

True that I may be too stressed...but I do really want this to go well =)

Anyway, I am very excited about the silent auction, hourly draw for free alignment / wheel balance, and mazdaspeed sales!

Imagine winning a bid to do Mosport BIG track for half the price and won a free alignment due to your expert knowledge on the mazda cars and getting some carbon fiber stuff from Mazdaspeed...omg I came! (Alright Chris, maybe I am on drugs...)

I will update throughout the day on some of the items that need help on Sunday.

Thanks for the support and suggestion!

Peace out.

Just a short note to tell everyone how much we appreciate your support. All of our suppliers, Mazda Canada and Mazdaspeed for genuine parts, BFGoodrich/Michelin for tires and Keystone for all aftermarket performance parts (Hawk, Eibach,Autometer etc) have all given us the ability to sell at or below our normal dealer cost (not retail) for this day. Mazda USA supplied us with some amazing cars and tickets etc for the ALMS race the following weekend. We have an amazing community with all the Mazda owners and this is our chance to show our appreciation to all of you.
