8 Got Hit: looking for good body shop / salvage yard in sauga

Hey Everyone, I did a search in this forum and couldn't find any information in Sauga.. hopefully I didn't miss anything before I posted. Does anyone know a good body shop and savage yards in Mississauga?

I just got back into a '06 rx8 GREY last week and in less than a week I got hit (hit and run). What luck.... so I'm trying to find the cheapest way to fix my 8. The driver side fender is dented, bumper is scratched and the head light's bracket is cracked (but still connected so i can technically save money here and not replace it).

Anyways, any information will be greatly appreciated!

Cheers,

ck

Sad to hear! Can't your insurance company take this for you? You will have to pay the deductible (far less than the repair by you) but at least everything will get fixed!

thanks for the post scoot but I don't want to claim insurance for something around $1k. it's not worth it because I feel like in future it will probably nipped me in the butt for a lot more! I'm 24 at the moment, and I'm milking every possible discount (good student d/c etc. etc.).

So hopefully when I turn 25 next year, I'll have a reduce rate.

I have a OEM front bumper... it's TiGrey.. has acouple of nicks in the paint, but since you'd have to get it repainted anyways... that wouldn't really matter...

Other then that... I dunno of any shops... I've been looking for a place with an 8 there... but... no such luck yet.

yeah... tried them... most of the add's are bullshit. It's some random guy who has "sold most of the parts from these cars"... the dude might have acouple of parts from something or other... but he's taking pics from around the interwebs and implying that they are cars on his lot... if you look closely there's palm tree's in some of the shots.

In any case, I called said bugger and the price on some of his stuff is like $10 cheaper then buying new from the dealer.

best bet is http://car-part.com/ if you're going to try and find scrapheap stuff.

BPTH!

If its a dent and a scratches on the 8 your worry about...I think the major cost would be getting it repainted... the one issue your going to face is blending the new colour to the existing one...a good paint shop would charge ~$1000...of course there are cheaper shop out there...but then the quality of work would decrease...I've got quoted $450 to redo my back bumper...

Just my 2 cents....

thanks guys for the replies... I got quotes ranging from 1100, 1500 to 2800 (replace headlight).

Some say the time it takes to fix the fender I might as well replace it. I'm hoping I don't have to replace my headlights... those run close to 1k by itself.

I didn't expect it to be so costly... I don't know if I should claim insurance now...

Do a search on ebay for MAZDA RX8 XENON HID HEADLIGHT. Scroll through the pages of cheap bulbs and other crap and you'll see some used HID's for about 4 bills. Should bring the cost down on your repairs a fair bit. G'luck dude.

Thanks REV-illusions for the look up. I"ll probably ebay the part if it's not repairable, but hopefully it is!

car timeline: 04 BB RX-8 --> 03 Black S2000 (AP1) --> 06 TG RX-8

I didn't have time to take a picture yet because I just got it last week and then I got hit. =\

Side note, just wanted to say it was cool meeting you today Footman. Finally talked to another fellow RX-8 enthusiast. Downside is, your Mazdaspeed Exhaust is totally has a hook on me now =.=.

my BB 8 pics was posted (post #22) in this thread with a BMW car I was working on: https://www.rx8club.com/showthread.p...85#post3212285
