I'm 99% attending SDCC, er clicky here
San Diego Comic con 2007
Unfortunately, I don't think I'll be making Chicago this year, but I'm still seeing if it's possible. With our second kid coming in August, things are a little busy in the household to say the least.
I'm going to see if I can hit a few shops to sign copies in their shops on the 14th.
The ones I'll aiming at hitting:
Paradise Comics
The Beguiling
Heroes World
Kaos Komics

Issue #2 is shipping April 11th!
(Well that's what I read from the Diamond shipping list at least.)
Here are photos from the store signings at Beguiling and Paradise Comics, as well as the view I has at the con I was at. Yeah, I wished I took more pics too--next time I promise. click here for photos.
If you're wondering. Chris Butcher at the Beguiling colored for a cool cat we know here  He says hi BTW. The man in orange at Paradise Comics is Doug--for the life of me, I can't remember his last name. At the con, I was seated between two fantastic artists. Kent Burles and Alex Perkins.
Both were interesting experiences.
The signings started off slow--for me that is. I just found it a little weird telling people to check ATC out, etc. So my hats off to Chris Butcher who helped me find my marketing legs for ATC. He also hooked me up with some comic work he did with jimmykitty. My daughter kicked *** as a marketing machine. She would cling onto people and then threw that cute smile of hers and whomever it was, was done for. I dare anyone to say no to her (I just know that power of my little gal is going to haunt me later.) Paradise Comics were great all around and got me a Timmies hit. Mmm...Timmies... This was my first shop, sort of. The shop that I was at closed up without telling anyone and a street over was Paradise who did a kick *** thing and honoured the other shop's membership.
For the con, food and bathroom breaks were the two things that come to mind. They were a bit of a battle, but it was all cool. Junk food helped, some of which came by the way of donut bits given by Alex, and thanks to endless sketches that Alex Perkins was doing, I was able to jet off for a sec or two for a pee break. The readers that were excited about After the Cape were very cool, as where some retailers that came up to chat for a bit. I talked about other titles of Shadowline and hope people will try them out, not to mention some retailers too. All-in-all, it was a good time.

It's FCBD, lol. I didn't make it or anything, but I sure enjoy the heck out of getting free comic books. Heh. BTW, there's loads of all ages books that you can get too at any local shop that has 'em. You can find out where the shops are with the site I posted http://www.freecomicbookday.com/
Some shops have creators, artists and writers there so you can get tings scribbled on and what not.

And people wonder why dudes want to get into comics or go to cons.
Yeah, those girls are the Toronto outfit of the Suicide Girls. I'll try to meet the LA ones in San Diego in July.
I need to see you dudes one day. It's been like forever. This weekend is daddy's day, but I'll see what I can drum up for the weekend afterwards.
I'm just a newbie script monkey who's still learning the ropes. The other people there were industry giants.
Jerry Robinson created the Joker and Robin for Christ sake. Crazy huh?
Anyway, I'm still recovering from the after con parties. Ug.

Someone told me about DCBS selling it for 50% off! Not to mention PARADE WITH FIREWORKS.
They also have BOMB QUEEN IV #2 and HIDING IN TIME #3 at 40% off.
I have never used this service so if anyone can comment please do so. Thanks!

LOL. Honestly, I really wonder why people do that with comic books. I like reading them, like you know, a book.
