ON Aftermarket parts in Canada,

Hi Guys,

I was wondering where could you purchase aftermarket parts in Canada or GTA area for our RX-8.

I know as a matter of fact a the vendors in the US will ship across Canada. But a lot of time there is a import tax that applies to the product when coming aboard Canada.

I am looking for coilover and brake items etc.

Please advise ^^

Buy them online.......

Depending on what you want.....look at the forum vendors

Mazmart is great for prices on stuff they have..new and used..

BHR, Race Roots both ship to Canada...

You have to pay tax ( HST now) but there is likely no duty on car parts and accessories

Watch how they ship...the area you get screwed sometimes is on brokerage fees....I find UPS is decent...so is USPS..but Fedex and Purolator have been brutal

You'll be hard pressed to find a store in the GTA that stocks anything for the RX8. Part of the RX8's attraction is how unique the car is (IMO). When I need aftermarket goodies, I'm better off to just order them online - 9 times out of 10 it will be WAY faster, and will cost roughly the same.

Just my .02

Yes the brokerage fee is my concern, I remember buying something for $40 and end up paying 90$...

might as well order it online. No point of paying the mark up + waiting time.

Even after taxes, buying from the U.S. is cheaper than buying the parts here.

just make sure everything gets shpped to you via USPS.
you'll avoid all brokerage fees that way, although you might have to pay taxes once in a while depending on the package.

i suggest Race Roots as well. very good communication and doesn't mind shipping via USPS to Canada if you ask (might be a bit more expensive, but like I said...)

Yeah, just make sure you get the seller to ship via USPS. (UPS and FedEx charges you more) But even with USPS, you still have to pay tax (HST). Last month I bought a part, and I got charged for $43 HST Tax, and $18 duty, a total of $61 of extra fee.

You have to call for pricing cause there prices arent updated. for example they have the HKS Legamax Catback on the site for $1800, but they told me its $1090.
