Al leaving Scarboro Mazda
Hi folks,
For those of you who don't already know, Al will be be leaving Scar Mazda to persue other business oppertunities in the next week or so.
I'd would like to extend a very large thanks to Al for all the hard work, effort, and assistance that he has provided over the years to everyone - not only in this forum, but Mazda owners in general.
He has always tried to extend a helping hand to anyone in need and has even helped in bring our group here closer together by organizing track days, Mosport parade laps, and even managed to put Mazdaspeed North together single handedly.
I'm sure he'll still be floating around here and there every now and again.. and i'm also pretty sure we can still manage to drag his butt to the track.
Once again Al, thank you for dedication to all of us, and good luck with your future endevors.
So Long and Thanks for All the Fish.

anyways. Al, you have done so many great things for the local rx8club community. you will be missed greatly. Hopefully like chris says, we wont be able to keep you from the track and our great track days with great instructors can continue next season as successfully as they did this season. good luck Al.

Now that Im not an employee of Mazda or have an affiliation.........I can say things from the heart. Most of the RX8 and RX7 guys have been a blast to have around and have made things at Scarboro Mazda a lot of fun. Having the guys around while we worked on the cars, having meets, track days etc. Most of the RX8 and Rx7 guys are great..................except the odd numb nuts that doesnt have a clue....oh wait ......that must be you! For the record I tendered my resignation last Monday and have been asked to stay as long as I can. I will be starting my new position on December 1, and had planned to take the last week of November off and still hope to do so. I have spoken with each manager at Scarboro and have asked then to keep going with what we started, taking care of the enthusiast comunity. If you need anything, I am sure Steve or Russ can keep the tradition going. To RXDave 63 have a great life! lol

This probably applies to most of what you have to say; considering this was your second post, it really gives us a peak at what we should expect from you.

I will never forget all the moments I spent with you (ok sounds pretty gay lol) but thanks for truly open my eyes in automotive sports.
I will never forget screaming like a bitch in my own stock car when you chase down that full mazdaspeed rx8 race car in Mosport.
I will never forget frezzing my *** off in the morning to go to Mosport for your many races and all the love and care to her - only to see the bitch die (I think I can call her a bitch now can I lol).
I will never forget crying in my heart when I see all those kids with terminal illness having so much fun at the race track with you and your fellow race car drivers giving them probably the last thrill of their lives...its such an irony that race car drivers actively seeking "death" while these kids just hanging on their lives yet so happy inside the cars running at the track.
I will never forget yelling at the top of my lung when I see you pass the finish line for that epic win in the British Empire Motor Club race on Sunday, May 10 2009.
And there are many, many more moments that really open my mind. You are more than just a good GM to me. Throughout the short period of time you show your dedications to me as a friend as well as a fellow car lover.
And I will never forget your help when I was in the absolute bottom of my ******* life this year because of the financial storm.
Please help Scarboro Mazda getting a GM with 60% of your enthusiasm on cars, 40% of your enthusiasm on rotary...
Anyways, I won't bug you at your new job until you can offer me excellent price on tofu delivering car a few years later *wink *wink - I guess my prediction is right, you truly own a tofu shop doing racing stuff afterwork!
Godspeed.

Josh that is truly one of the nicest things I have ever read! Just remember I am not going away or disappearing, the opportunity that was offered to me I could not turn down. I still hope to be able to hang out with all of you, I still own and am a partner in another Mazda and hope to still be able to do track days etc with you! You have become a great friend Josh and I will always cherish that friendship! ( not to sound gay)

We didn't get a chance to meet in person, though I have read on the forums about all the good you have done, and the help you have been to so many of my fellow owners.
I am sure you will be missed at the dealership.
All the best with whatever new path you have chosen to follow.
Cheers
Tim

Though i have yet to have my car serviced at Scarboro Mazda, I was really looking forward to it because everyone around here convinced me that it's the most reliable and trustworthy place to go. You've built such a reputation for the dealership that I don't know where else I should or could take it when you're gone.
Thank you for all your time spent answering our questions here on the forums and good luck on your future endeavors.

I just want everyone to know how much I appreciate all your comments. I have been involved in car communities for the last 30 years, but non like the RX8 club. I will continue to visit the site and help where I can, my new endeavor isnt much different, just a different brand. My new position is the General Manager of Woodbine Toyota I start Dec 1. Woodbine is part of a 3 dealer group which combines Pickering Toyota, Woodbine Toyota and Erin Mills Mitsubishi. There is more expansion on the horizon and I couldnt turn down this fantastic opportunity. I will continue to help where I can, for advice, parts, tires etc! Like I said in a previous post, the staff at Scarboro Mazda has assured me they will look after you like I would!
ps: I havent left Scarboro yet, I should be there all week!

One thing my team is trying to find now is shop space. We need about 1500 sq ft where we can have our cars, my truck and trailer. If anyone knows of any shop space preferably in the GTA please let us know. If we can find a bigger shop we will consider renting space for indoor winter storage of cars...........
