I don't really know what those accent lights are worth, but, depending on price target and quantity, I may have something that would interest some folks.
Friend of mine does custom electronics (long story) and one of his off-shoot business is an LED lighting system he's developed. Panels of ultra-bright RGB LEDs with a controller that allows infinite variability in colour. So, you use one of his panels, and through the control interface (USB on a PC for the prototype he showed me) you can select literally any colour you want, or have them sweep through colours etc.
It was designed for theater lighting, DJs, home accent lighting etc. but being a car enthusiast, he's been playing with automotive applications as well, for example accent lights, underglow type stuff, marker lights etc (i.e. make the marker lights any colour you want, whenever you want.. for off-road use only, of course.)

At a car show this spring, he put 2 panels (each has 12 LEDs as I recall) under the hood of my race car just for fun, and it lit up the whole engine bay, and cycled through about 10 colours as it did it. I should have some video kicking around some place.

Anyway, if people might be interested in something like that, I can try to find some ballpark prices, quantities required to do a run etc. Also would depend on if people want something that's finished to plug-and-play, or just the panels and instructions to wire it up your self.

Wow guys! Welcome to 1955! Those used to be called "sex lights" and they were real big in the 50's and 60's lol. Back in the day (1980's) I put them in my Trans-AM for about $9.00. Get some blue tail light bulbs, mount a switch under your dash and run them to a power source. Or you could pay me hundreds of dollars to do it for you. hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

he got his first set from autoillumination, but their not that great.

ideally we wanna get a group buy started with vleds.

I've been talking to these guys, cdnautoworks.com, they set up group buys on forums, and deal with the duties and everything, and just give us a set price, one of the guys just had a new kid into the family, so we couldnt set up the meet where they would come out and show us the differnt lights in our cars.

I did mine on Christmas day 2007. It was my christmas present I gave to Nattie. I had pics posted here so you can do a search you can find them or I can take new ones.

They are wired to the courtesy light system. Therefore, they come on when you open the door and turn off when you close the door. All wiring is performed near the fusebox by the driver side footwell.

I used the 30-LED weather proof flexible strip from superbrightled.com
They were perfect for illuminating the footwell. I bought 4 for all 4 footwells. The rears are attached to the underside of the front seats via velcro. You only need the "loop" type part of the velcro stuck onto the LED strip because there is an entire section on the underseat that is the "cloth" type part of the velcro system. You do not need to tape the "cloth" type onto underside of the seats. The velcro is strong enough to hold onto the lightweight LED strip upside down with ease.

I caution the use of double sided tape on the 1" section of smooth plastic that is underneath the seats as from experience the doublesided tape did not hold well at all. Tape does not hold well from wide variations of temperatures inside the car (cold in winter, hot/melting in summer). Velcro does not exhibit this short coming.

A lot of you guys know I have this done already, I'm surprised you don't know?

I am in Edmonton all week, what do you guys want?

No, I did not get mine from autoillumination. Stop feeding false information or putting words in my mouth! not the first time you're doing this!

I wouldnt mind have puddle lights coming to think about it.... the ones under your side view mirrors.

But for the money, I would just invest in replacements for all your interior bulbs to swap em out to LED. Probably work out cheaper than buying the footwell lights.

I did mine in the summer of 2007 as well. Every Single bulb on the interior and exterior of my car was changed to LED (Except for the xenons, highbeams and fogs - I changed highbeams and fogs to superwhite halogens). The exterior bulbs have the best effect...especially the rear brakes, signals and reverse lights. LED bulbs have a neonish colour to them....very eye catching and very sexy!

I got most of my bubls from vleds....good store but shipping is very expensive to Canada. If you guys need any info let me know.

I think puddle lights are going to be next for me.....they really add a great visual effect to the car!

Thanks for the info man...you got Stormy Blue too cool! What colour are the LED? Is it Blue on your SAND interior? I have sand interior and I am still undecided on the colour...

Nah, I did pure white. That seems to be the best fit with the sand interior, really sets the sand off! I think I may do blue foot wells though. White and blue go together well imho. Let me know if you need any more info.
