Attn: Ontario residents!
I was pulled over by the 5-0 this morning...I was behaving myself because the city cop was right behind me, but then he turned on the flashers.
Turns out the system had me with an expired tag. I was a few days late renewing mine last year and I went to one of those ServiceOntario kiosks to get a new one, but the machine gave me a November '11 tag even though my birthday is in October.
So he let me go, saying my story made sense, which actually nice of him as I had forgotten my wallet with my license in it today. He said to try and find the receipt from the kiosk. Yeah, good luck with that. I'm gonna call the MTO now and try and sort it out.
Anyways, just a word of warning to my fellow Ontarians. You never want to give the heat an excuse to hassle you...just ask Timothy Leary...

They are the furthest thing from Police "to protect and to serve" HA!
More like tax enforcement for the Politicians ....
Just another reason why I hate this province.

Good god what a clusterfuck.
They have no record that I bought a sticker. The nice lady suggested that I may have put my license plate in wrong on the kiosk. Now, I have to get a DriveClean (would have been due this coming October but they won't issue a sticker now without it), attend a ministry office, try and get a refund for the wrong sticker, pay an old parking ticket ($51), and get a new sticker ($74). The good news being that I won't need another DriveClean in October.
I only used the kiosk because they closed the office I normally attend and the other one is now over-run. I knew I had the outstanding ticket, but the machine never asked me about it, so I thought I had gotten away with something. As if!

Typical Government behavior.
I refuse to use those machines because I know they won't do what they're suppose to do. I've seen the people who've implemented those wonderful kiosks.
Thankfully the little office around my home is always available. Unlike some of the ones in T.O. where you're waiting in line forever!!!
Stupid drive clean!!!

I get followed everywhere. My granny driving skills are much improved after getting 2 improper muffler tickets. Now when they start following me I instantly pull over, turn the car off and call someone. Can't use the phone while driving, so they either drive off or pull over behind me, walk up and say, "oh, you are making a call, have a good day"
I prefer driving in Detroit (somewhat lawless), but after the 19 people that got shot in 9 different area's this weekend past, I think I am going to go straight to Pontiac (Woodward) this W/E coming up.
I've been considering a Escort Passport 9500

Toronto cops apparently do use the Spectre system, plus detectors are illegal in Ontairo. However I've wanted one for years!
