I spoke to Samson at Imagemotorsports and becuase we are bring like 10 cars they are going to run "Pro Track" in the morning for us. Pro track is closer to running the big track at Mosport because its corners carry more speed and are sweeping not the point and shoot of the DDT. It is much easier on tires and brakes as well!

crap comparison! Pro track isn't nearly as *** clenching as Mosport's big track! No major walls to smack into (unless you're being a total idiot), and no elevation changes! That being said.. it's still a hellva lot of fun!

I need more money.... and a working suspension

Finally the REV has spoken lol. All I meant was that Pro track has a flow to it, not just stab and steer like DDT or TMP or Long Track at Shannonville

lol yeah we were still doing last minute clean up annnd we had to drive passively bc we were trying to save gas (didn't work - we got caught up in traffic and had to make a pit stop for more gas). Thanks for the in car lessons Al ! Really helped out ! My tires and brakes are no longer track worthy sooo I'll be contacting you in the future for those hawk pads, new brake and transmission fluids lol.

I am really sorry about that! I thought we were going to cruise to Belleville and grab something to eat etc. I have the video from the Go Pro, its okay the files are huge and I dont know how to edit or just post small bits of it. Supposedly after we left the red Turbo Prelude caught fire on the backstraight and it took them a while to get it under control......the driver was okay.

nah... the rear shock is kaput... I'm buying some stance coilover's from another member on the forum. Aside from a possible SSV issue... the only other reason for slow times would be my shitty driving skills

Yeah... I agree with that one... more high speed corners to loose speed through. I haven't driven TMP yet though... would like to check it out at some point...

I think we need to get about 30 RX's together and do our own day at Pro Track at Shannonville. A weekday would cost about $150.00 per person and we could have the whole place for a whole day!

I'd be in to that, if the Red ***** starts behaving herself. Going to TMP tomorrow test/tune my new PFC and hopefully I got rid of all the bugs that plagued me at sigma. F#@K, I'm missing my trouble free 8.

I'm out for the rest of the track season, two of the RPF1s from the passenger side are bent/warped. Unless I can find new ones or get them repaired I don't think it would be pretty smart to push them any harder. They vibrate at speeds > 120kmph.

The day was still fun though I learnt a lot, thanks for the tips!

You can get them repaired fairly inexpensively, Carcones Auto Wreckers does it and so does the Collision Networks Body Shop. Should be around $150.00 per wheel if you dont want them refinished as well. Are you sure there bent or do you just have big rubber boogers on the insides of them?

What the? Did you fly off the track or something? Aren't those rims basically brand new?

Definitely bent and dented. I thought at first it was just the wheel weights which were ripped off, but when mounted to the machine there was some crazy wobbling. I'll take some photos later and bring them for a repair inspection. At $150 per wheel I might as well order new ones from where I got these originally. Only $250 per wheel and I need to order rubber from them next year anyways.

Yeah.. got them in Feb. Went off pretty bad, a couple of times. No one to blame but myself for trying to carry too much speed on a track I barely know.

On the plus side when I had my inspection done yesterday I asked the tech to check my high flow cat. He looked into the pipe and said 'What cat? It's a straight pipe.' It was gone. Disintegrated completely. I put the stock cat back on and now I have my power back :D I'll keep it this way for the rest of the year.

Holy crap the cat really did explode !? Noice !

Hey let me know when you order new rims and rubber - I will join you for next season as my RE-11's tread is completely f*cked lol - the front tires are screwed up way worse than the rear... tire noise in the cabin is definitely amplified -.-

Dont mess around with street tires for the track next time. The only tire that might give you any type of life is the Michelin Super Sport, and for the price you can buy a set of track tires and a set of street tires. You guys are paying the price of learning and listening to the internet or as a very wise man once told me "you got Porsche club syndrome". You need to get a set of either
Hoosier R6's or BFG R1's for the track. You then need to watch your tire temps and set pressures and alignment based on those temps. Its all part of the learning curve lol. I learned about 10 years ago "a street car will never make a good race car and a race car will never make a good street car". I have my Mustang sitting in my garage and rarely drive it because its way too harsh on the street and way too slow on the track lol.

Which track was that? Shannonville? If so I'm gonna guess a high curb? Welcome to the dead cat club. If you lost power as a result of that... it's likely plugged down the line. If it was completely open you wouldn't notice much power loss and your poopshoots would be firing out massive fireballs.

I need new street rubber next year... so let me know if you continue with this.
