Marc, I've actually never seen the design of it as installed in an engine bay. I thought it left some 5 - 6" gap between the opening of the intake and the hole at the front of the engine bay??? I'm not sure, though I'd have to say whether this is a CAI or NOT will be quite dependant on how big this gap is (thus how much engine bay air is getting into the path of it.)
I should have seen it last time; show it to me next time.

The K&N 2 is like that... the PRM has about a 1" gap at the lower side of it and it's basically touching at the top. It's not a closed system.. but still works pretty damn well.

Rev - hence why I first said, does CAI definition depend on it's actual location, OR what temps are being read at the MAF?!?! If that's the case then NO not a TRUE CAI, but does that really matter if it is sucking ambient temp?!?!
Footman - I have a whole thread on it in the aftermarket part of this forum u can see pics and sound there. I have moved it a bit since there, to get it that much closer to the hole. It is not a 5 or 6" gap like the K&N is. Yes for sure I will show you next time!!
It all comes down to peeps personal impressions on what they want/looking for and for me after the MS CAI, LOVE the PRM!!

Thanks to everyone for their input!
I think I'll go for the RB Revi Intake & Duct, it's on sale as a combo for 439 US @ RB that makes it competitive with others out there if subtract the cost of the duct, which I want anyway. Force Air Induction! IMO
But it's been a great debate as usually.
