BC RX-8 - Mechanical Workshop (Sat June 14)

We had so much fun back in October 2007. I think we're long overdue for another Mechanical Workshop!

Date: Saturday, June 14, 2008
Time: 11:30am (Meet up for lunch, then start working)
Location: To be determined...

Suggested Topics?:
  • Change Spark Plug
  • Rewire car to eliminate the "bang on door and it unlocks" problem
  • Change your own Cabin Air Filter for under $30 in under 5 minutes. (Dealer charges you over $120)
  • Tom? How 'bout those brakes that you ordered?
  • Van? Did you ever get parts for that CarPC?
  • Any other suggestions?

I did just get some sway bars... but I'm planning on having a shop installing them this weekend. (I'd do it myself, but I'd have to drill into the stock mounts, I'd prefer to let someone with experience do that)

So far, I only got the motherboard. If anybody wants to do their own carPC install, I will donate the motherboard so I can watch how it is done.

I think the toughest part for us (people without stock nav) is to get a screen in our car and make it look pretty.... Scared to do that. =P

Intakes are no sweat and I think the K&N intake is pretty easy. A handful of us have done intake installs recently and we could definately help you out with that.
BTW, this mech workshop event is for BCRX8 members only though. We do welcome newcomers to our club so if you want to join us, we'd love to have you out!!!

I'd love to go to Montreal on a road trip but unfortunately with the price of gas these days, travel costs would probably be about a hundred times more than airfare!
I do love Montreal's famous Schwartz's smoked meat though! I always get the "fatty" brisket cut with Cherry Coke when I'm in town. It's the most delicious thing you could ever eat!

And how about flushing transmission fluid? or is that too dirty a job?

The people who have signed up should've received an email from me about the location. If you didn't, please PM me.

Also, I've changed our meeting time to 11:00am so that we can grab a bit of an earlier lunch and squeeze more stuff in so we'll be done before dinner time.
