Rick donated 5 Walkie talkies. However three of them do not charge anymore, and cannot activate.
So we have in fact, just have two additional walkie talkies.
If you want to use one of these walkie talkies, you must buy 3 AAA batteries for the one you are going to use.
May I suggest, if you don't own a walkie talkie, you'd be much better off buying a pair from "The Source" or from "London Drugs".
If you find yourself talking a lot on this trip, you will notice your battery running out before the end of the trip.
Listening on the Walkie talkies requires very little power. From my experience anyways.

Still thinking I might join you all.
We're heading to Vancouver to pick up another vehicle anyway.
What kind of walkie talkies are you using?
Is there a car wash near the mall?
My car is going to be fairly bug splattered by the time I get there......as it usually is this time of year.
I mentioned before that I would be turning left at hwy 97 North of Cache Creek and heading home to Williams Lake.
Also please remind me of the dues amount.

We're just using those Motorola or Cobra 2 way radios you can buy at London Drugs or Costco for around $80 a pair or so. Nothing high powered...
Searching on Esso's website gave me two locations in North Van that have car wash:
177 W 3RD ST, NORTH VANCOUVER
1712 LONSDALE AVE, NORTH VANCOUVER
Membership fee for BC RX-8 is $20.
Looking forward to meeting you there!

Thanks a bunch folks!!!!!!
Lots of fun putting the 8 through it's paces for sure.
Had an excellent fast drive to Hwy 97 and the rest went well too. (temp got to 43 on my thermometer)
The radar at 100 Mile house was pointed the other way so the trip was a charm. Nice to meet you all!!
Great rides!!
I hope you all made it back safely and looking forward to next time I can join in.

You know, one of the moments that really mattered to me, was when the whole group took a stand for Eldon safety (his gf too!), that too me makes it that much more obvious what our club members value most.
I'm glad to be a part of this event. Cheers to all those who made it out!
Outstanding photo's everyone!

I'd also like to thank everyone for making it out too. It really was a whole lot of fun and the stunning scenery and fun driving is something I will never get tired of.
Gyro brought up a good point that it was a cool momment with Eldon and it's probably the biggest benefit of being in a club. I do have to admit that I secretly enjoyed witnessing Eldon pulling out his hair and losing his cool though. funny stuff, good times! haha

It breaks my heart seeing an RX8 break down, for any reason, especially to a guy who has done so much for the club. It would be heart wrenching to see you loose the car for any reason. I do sincerely hope to see your car at full condition. With a new motor if necessary. I hope I get to see you both (&SeaYoung?) more often! in the years to come!!
I really have to also, acknowledge Dan for providing his experience and tools to save the day. Dan is invaluable. Don't know what I'd do without you guys. Don't know what the club would be like without you two guys.

Yes. This was a fun ride. And it was really awesome that all of you were there to help me out. Thanks so much to everyone for being there for me! I really was freaking out, but thanks to everyone, my car got back home safely! Don't know what I would've done without you guys. Thanks!
I'm going to call Mazda now and get them to look at my car. Thanks again to everyone.

Well it was painfully slow but I managed to get most of my pics in the bucket
http://s396.photobucket.com/albums/p...xandstonesRX8/
I still four to get in but perhaps they are to large a file. Keeps getting a server IO error.

You know... based on that drive, I MUST say British Columbia is PRIME RX8 country!!
I just finished my 7 minute video (28 minutes of driving compressed into super speed) it looks pretty rockin! The landscape changes so much through our drive.
Sea to sky HWY was mountain cliffs and the sea
Squamish was switchback roads through encroaching trees
Pemberton was a roller coaster ride through mountainous cliffs
Lillooette was high speed roads through dry arid plains and rocky outcrops - and numerous tunnels through mountains!
Hope and below was boooooorrriiiing! lol

Our BCRX8 2008 Cruise Video Low Rez version:
Our BCRX8 2008 Cruise Video High Rez version:
The high rez version takes 2 minutes to pre-cache, so be patient!
It's our first download-able club video

Cool flick Timothy!!
I'm set to go again.
I'll have to go with you all down the hwy 12 route next year.
Have you ever taken the road from Spences Bridge to Merritt?
It's a little out of the way but it's a good twister too.
Eldon, what's the diagnoses on your car??
Not to be rude but mine seems to be running better than ever..I must have cleaned her out some....I do tend to drive like a g'pa on my commute.
All that 3rd gear high rev driving must have done the engine some good.
4th gear synchro is a little crabby tho'.

Hey guys.
Looking back at these pics and thinking of the fun.

Am I nuts????

for the amount of money an audi awd would cost, you could just keep your 8(it's not like you could get top dollar right now from trade anyways) and get some kind of used awd car to use for those few crappy weather months

Totally overdone, but very effective, and very cool. Also cheaper than buying a car. Haha.
Keep the RX8, it's the nice weather blitz car.
