BC'ers: beware PDM Racing.

BC'ers: beware PDM Racing.
hi, just wanted to give everyone a heads up on PDM Racing.
i placed a deposit on 2 Whiteline non-adjustable swaybars (deposit = buying 1 bar) on April 17th. i was told in person, that they would be faxing an order that same day to Whiteline and that a sea freight shipment would take between 6 and 8 weeks.
April -- May -- June -- July -- August -- September
it's September 24th and i don't have any bars or anything to show for my $177.
granted there was a port strike in Vancouver from ~June 25th-August 14th - it's been ~170 days.
Whiteline is awesome. the person i dealt with through email was more than willing to help me track down PDM's order history and transactions to see what the delay was.
from what i can gather, PDM didn't even bother putting in an order until mid-June.
and like Preparation H, on the whole, PDM feels good. (i googled like crazy trying to find other people who were screwed by them but came up empty). i even tried the local car forum (RevScene) from where PDM was banned (i think it was cuz they were advertising and not paying advertising fees though) but nothing but ok/good reviews.
and through all of this, i've only received 2 phone calls from PDM
1. 1 call from the owner, Don, telling me there was no way i would get my deposit back.
2. a call telling me they were expecting my bars to arrive on September 17th....i'm stilling digging myself out of the bullshit.
so in conclusion, don't order RX parts from PDM ... but go ahead and order 240SX parts cuz there probably won't be a delay on those. nobody likes to be bent over and taken for a ride. and PDM has no problem doing that, even though they seem like a professional shop with a good reputation.
thanks for reading. excuse me while i go apply some more preparation H ...

okay so i'm in town today and i pick up the bars ... no box, no instructions...
so 166 days later. i have two bars and 4 bushings.
fine and dandy except for the fact that there's supposed to be a lateral lock kit that prevents movement in the bar included with each of the RX-8 swaybars.
WTF?
don't go with Whiteline Swaybars ... not worth the trouble.

Whiteline....
....thats not good, J!
Are you sure the lateral locks aren't there?
They are just two little 'hose-clip' thingies and small yellow plastic circles, mine were in with the bushings and lube.
It is good to know which shops to avoid...

yeah cuz i literally only got 2 bars wrapped in a plastic bag each, 4 bushings, and 2 packets of grease handed to me...no box, no instructions.
i just emailed Whiteline, but being half way around the world, not sure what time it is there.
i knew i should have cut my losses and ordered from DPE ...
i guess i should be thankful that the bars came with a bag...

Whiteline should get you taken care of on the lateral locks; continue to pursue them directly. They shipped a large batch of RX-8 bars without them, but if you get a set they are quick to correct the problem. If you have any trouble with getting the locks, we could probably send you a couple sets for just the cost of shipping; you'd just have to vouch for me when I call Whiteline and tell them I need another set and tell them why .
Additionally, check the front swaybar bushings. If they are marked with 26mm on one side and 1451 on the other, you got the wrong ones. We had that problem. If they are marked 27mm and 1319(I think?), you are in good shape.
And lastly, for anyone else considering Whiteline bars, we're happy to ship to Canada and you WILL get all of the correct parts. And we even put them in a box! We've also learned that shipping USPS saves you guys on broker fees vs. UPS and FedEx, so we can go that route as well.
Anyway, jowettw, let me know if you have any trouble getting the locks and we'll work something out. Just contact sales@dpeweb.com.

Dpe.....
Way to step up, DPE!!
DPE looked after me and my Whitelines, sent replacements for the wrong bushings in the Whiteline kit - great service all round - a great vendor!

Good deal! Whiteline has been great to work with from a dealer perspective as well. I figured they would get you taken care of, just wanted you to know you had options if need be.
Do double check your front swaybar bushings per my last post too; if they're wrong as well, at least that way they can send everything at once .

If you are wanting the fixed-position bars, it would be a grand total of $280 shipped. For adjustable bars, it would be $340 shipped.
I believe the shipping rates from FedEx are $10 less or so (USPS with insurance is $40), but as I understand it FedEx charges substantially more in broker fees/tariffs/duties (whatever it is they charge) than USPS does. Though some have received them via FedEx and been charged no additional fees. So I'm really not sure what the best route to go is, but if you've had better luck with one or the other I'll get them to you however you prefer.
For instructions on ordering through the site, PM me and we'll get you taken care of.
