Best sounding cold air intake?

Hi all. Not sure if there are any posts about this (I'm sure there is), but I'd love to know what the best CAI is for a deep rumbling sound? I cant stand the high-pitched whining ones like the Typhoon. I dont want my 8 to sound like a crotch rocket.

Sweet. Thanks. I've heard a lot of those on YouTube and yeah they were in fact short ram airs. Is there one that has a really deep rumble?

i really like the cai intake design from aem/mazdaspeed, you hear it very pronounced past 4 K, its nice, that it lets you hear it when you need it, like when you step on it, when crusiign at 2-3 K, its not too noticeable, which I like since it would get annoying hearing when just crusing, especially if you being to add a midpipe and or catback. There thats one good youtube video of the blue 8, where you hear the guy reviing its pretty much like that, sucks that vid has the fan going in it too. But ya, when I got my CAI intake, I really liked it. Where are you located?

I love my Mazdaspeed CAI for the same reason that prospectjtaz brought up...
I can cruise around at low rpm and it's quiet as hell, but under wide-open throttle and approaching higher RPM's it's DAMN loud...

My buddy Dan (turborx8) asked me if I was SURE that my exhaust was stock because of just how loud the CAI sounded when I was following him... It echo's off of buildings and through tunnels louder than my old Intake/Exhaust combo on my Celica. lol

I agree too. There are not too many choices to get what you are looking for. Either one will probably suit. I also have the MS and love it. I also just read about another cai soon to be released... Injen perhaps?

I had the Revi intake before and it was very quiet.
I now have the MS, and it is quite loud under load...sort of a growl.
Someone said it sounds like it is 'chewing' the air.

Nice. Sounds like the MS is the one to get. Wonder if I could find one on Ebay? Is $299 at the dealers installed? I wish I could come out on Friday, but I'm in PEI on business right now. I'd love to get together for a meet soon though for sure. Gotta show off the new 8 (ok, so it's an AT, but the g/f doesn't drive stick and in the city, well...you know the rest).

Haha! True indeed. You can get just about anything done with varying quantities of beer. The funny thing is, the more beer involved, the less actually gets done!!

none of that happens with buckets of chicken.... except for the massive "itis" feeling afterwards!
